Members Caesar Posted June 21, 2018 Members Report Posted June 21, 2018 Very nice work! I'm sure he will appreciate it. I live right near Parris Island and see Marines everywhere I go. Good to know those guys are around if the world goes to shit... What kind of knife is that? Looks nice. Quote
Members RegisD Posted June 21, 2018 Members Report Posted June 21, 2018 Very nicely done nothing as satisfying as making something as a gift I am sure your Marine will treasure these. Semper Fi Regis Quote Handmade doesn't have flaws it's just built-in character.
MikeG Posted June 21, 2018 Author Report Posted June 21, 2018 Thank you all for the kind words. This project was challenging, trying to design the sheath to include the sharpening stone, fire starter and compass. It is designed as a scout carry with the belt strap removable. The straps are fastened with Chicago screws, so the hand can be swapped. I struggled with black dye rub off and reviewed these forums extensively. In the end, I will now be using Angelus Pro Black for any future black finish. Again, thank you all for the nice responses. We are looking forward to watching the graduation ceremony. 13 hours ago, Caesar said: Very nice work! I'm sure he will appreciate it. I live right near Parris Island and see Marines everywhere I go.
