Members steelhawk Posted January 6, 2019 Members Report Posted January 6, 2019 I found this knife sheath online somewhere with no info on who made it so I can't ask them. Does anyone know how the sheath is attached to the belt slot piece? Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted January 6, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted January 6, 2019 It looks like the sections with the belt slots are one piece with the rear layer of the sheath Quote
alpha2 Posted January 6, 2019 Report Posted January 6, 2019 Top piece, welt, and rear piece with loop extensions. 3 layer sheath. Quote
Members chiefjason Posted January 8, 2019 Members Report Posted January 8, 2019 That's probably more than just 3 pieces. But not a complete 4 piece either. Two options. The back piece is grain side out so it can be stamped with flesh side to the body. That's the easy way, but I doubt the sheath is done like that because the belt slots are stitched. And the workmanship is too nice to skimp on that. Most likely the loop is 2 layers with a thin grain side out layer going just into the welt. And the main piece is grain side to the body. That lets you stamp the outside of the loop and would require the loop to be stitched. Quote
