Wizcrafts Report post Posted January 30, 2019 1 hour ago, shoepatcher said: Wiz, When you remove the feed dog on the 441 Clone to put the their flat plate on, you have loss 1/3 of your feeding power. In essence, you have a needle and top feed machine. This plate that Beiler's sells lets you leave the feed dog in but with a flat needle plate. Much easier to sew on than the curved plate, believe me. I will not go back to the curved plate on my 205! glenn Are you saying that Beiler's flat plate retains the use of the moving feed dog? I thought you were telling me about an alternate narrow slotted throat plate that would sit above the top of the feed dog as it moves up and down. My holster plate already does that. I can leave the feed dog in when I install the raised holster plate. Could you post a picture of this new style flat plate? I Grok things better visually. Before I got my Cowboy CB4500, I used Union Lockstitch machines for holster and harness sewing. They are dual feed with jump foot and needle feed. This was a better system in my opinion, until you get into thinner needles.
shoepatcher Report post Posted January 30, 2019 Yes Just like the curved plate that comes with he machine only plate is flat. Feed dog stays in machine. Much better. The flat plate that Bob sells with the machine to me sucks. Plus, this flat plate does not hang over the edge as far. Why Cowboy made this flat plate this way so you have to remove the feed dog makes no since to me. The problem with the holster plate is their is a part on the plate that is raised up. This plate has nothing raised on it. Look at the flat plate for the 205 that Weaver sells. It is just like that plate only it fits the 441. glenn

You stated "supposed to be like a Cowboy" - am I to assume this isn't an actual Cowboy and one of the machines that ship directly to the purchaser without being set up and run off of? Thanks! the machine is a Cowboy, the accessory parts are unknown to me. Maybe Cowboy, maybe not. I imagine there are many companies cranking out parts for Juki clones.
