Members luxuryluke Posted March 3, 2019 Members Report Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) Okay, I know this sounds silly, but I know there are some very adept electricians on this forum that have abilities way beyond mine. Some just use the switch that came with our motors from the factory, but some excel at modifications. I know some motors you have to reach way under the table to turn it on. So here it is: What is your current (get it?) power switch setup for powering on your machine? Footswitch, missile launch, arcade buttons, modern, slick, industrial, minimal, lights, leds? What’s your flavor? Extra points for unique or style setups. Take some pics and share it with us. (Forum mods feel free to delete this indulgent post.) bikermutt07 Posted March 3, 2019 Report Posted March 3, 2019 I haven't done anything to my switches. However, both them dang things need a flashing light somewhere. I keep forgetting to turn them off before I stick my hands in to mess with bobbins. So far no mishaps. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members dikman Posted March 3, 2019 Members Report Posted March 3, 2019 My servos have ordinary rocker switches on the front panels, they work fine and I can't see the need for anything different. Members Matt S Posted March 3, 2019 Members Report Posted March 3, 2019 I've never wanted a e-stop mushroom on a sewing machine but I get frustrated with having to de-power the motor every time I want to stop it from sewing my fingers together. The second or two it takes to power on again is fine but the 10+ seconds the Jack servo takes to empty the power capacitors after I switch it off is too long for me to sit around waiting. An instant-safe switch would be rather handy, with a "live" light that's visible without looking under the table. And while we're at it I'd like a toggle switch for the needle positioner. And a one-touch backtack feature. And unbreakable needles. And an endless bobbin. And a pony, and a plastic rocket. Quote
