So, having recently bought one of those dinky little laser engravers I thought "I wonder....". A bit of doodling later with photoshop and I got something that sort of works. Not sure how practical it is yet. The round one gives better detail on the cactus but smaller printing, the oval one is probably a better design, with larger lettering, but then I loose detail on the cactus. A work-in-progress, as they say. Oh, and burning into garment leather (chrome tan, I guess) stinks!!!!!!! ? Where is South Oz Quote
Members chrisash Posted June 2, 2022 Members Report Posted June 2, 2022 Please do not laser chrome leather as I understand it gives off cyanide gas which is not very good for long life, veg tan is fine Quote Mi omputer is ot ood at speeling , it's not me
Members Bert03241 Posted June 2, 2022 Members Report Posted June 2, 2022 if you have proper ventilation its not a problem to cut or engrave Chrome Tanned leather. Its one of my favorites to work with. It does cut hard tho full power needed to cut Quote

Members Bert03241 Posted June 3, 2022 Members Report Posted June 3, 2022 (edited) Well that's what I thought but this logo would indicate your in Arizona, since the picture of this cactus is a Saguaro and they only grow in Arizona and the sonoran desert Edited June 3, 2022 by Bert03241 Quote
Members dikman Posted June 8, 2022 Author Members Report Posted June 8, 2022 (edited) Confusing, isn't it? I shoot single action and my persona is Cactus Jack Slade, hence the cactus when I was tossing around ideas for a maker's mark. IF I ever make things for sale it should confuse people slightly. Particularly if I put "Made in Australia" underneath. Edited June 8, 2022 by dikman Quote Machines wot I have - Singer 51W59; Singer 331K4; Seiko STH-8BLD; Pfaff 335; CB4500.
