I made this for a friend of mine. It's from one of Hahns Atelier's patterns. Pretty easy project. The side stitching method was new for me. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's not saddle stitching.

I might make another one with a tuck lock instead of a snap. I think that might work better. Different look too.

Nice and simple looking, and good stitching.  What is the stitching on the bottom for?  Is that attaching some sort of reinforcement that makes it hold it's shape?

Yeah, Wot he says,  :16: I too was wondering about that stitching on the bottom, but I think I can see another layer inside the bottom (?)

I'd agree that a snap isn't right,  a magnet lock or a tuc

Thanks. It was a fun project. 

There’s a 2nd layer in the bottom. Call it a gusset. It helps define the shape. Without that I think the clutch would fold up like an envelope.

Looks quite hard to do those bottom side stitches, not much room i guess

inside-out construction? turned right side out to finish?
