Members internetcowboy Posted December 19, 2019 Members Report Posted December 19, 2019 Does anyone have or know where I could obtain a shoulder holster pattern for a uberti / ruger birdhead 45LC. I have seen many makers of this pattern but have not been able to find one online anywhere thus far. I have attached a pic of the style I am looking for. Anyone's help sure would be appreciated. thank you... Quote
CFM chuck123wapati Posted December 19, 2019 CFM Report Posted December 19, 2019 This info it should help you, seems the uberti is a colt clone so any pattern for the colt single action army could be adapted. "This is the ideal concealable revolver for today’s Western enthusiast. The bird’s head grip design has been incorporated into Uberti’s Cattleman series of 1873 Single Action Army revolvers in both standard and Stallion designs." Quote Worked in a prison for 30 years if I aint shiny every time I comment its no big deal, I just don't wave pompoms. “I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, and I won’t be laid a hand on. I don’t do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.” THE DUKE!

Members Professor Posted January 6, 2020 Members Report Posted January 6, 2020 IIRC John Wesley Hardin was well known for carrying his revolver in an "Underarm rig". Haven't seen a period shoulder holster but holsters sewn onto suspenders were used to carry slim single shot pistols. The Birds Head grips were really only used on the Colt double action revolvers, the .38 caliber "Lightning " and the .41 caliber "Thunderer". Both came in a short barreled "Sheriffs Model" which would be perfect for this holster design. I don't doubt that aftermarket grips could be had even back then, but I haven't seen a Birds Head grip on a antique SAA yet. Quote
