Members sinpac Posted December 27, 2019 Members Report Posted December 27, 2019 Coming in at 6.25" thick, 14" high and 32" wide. Weighing in at a meager 250 LBS. + give or take. Bought it at my local monument shop for 50 bones Brother Jones. I have been waiting for a few years now for them to call me. They don't goof up often. Quote "It ain't about how hard you hit. Members Seagrove59 Posted December 27, 2019 Members Report Posted December 27, 2019 Impressive, you will need to post how you are mounting it or what on, 250 lbs is a hefty load. Quote

Members Scoutmom103 Posted December 28, 2019 Members Report Posted December 28, 2019 Central IN also. Can't wait to see how you install that hunk of granite. Quote
Members oltoot Posted December 28, 2019 Members Report Posted December 28, 2019 I made a stand just for it. A 20" split rim truck wheel for a base, 10" steel well casing for a stand, a 24" piece of structural steel for a table top with a 1" square tubing and 3/4 " plywood 3' x 4' table top work surface. Served me well for over 40 years Quote

I got an idea how to build it into my stamping table with underlying supports to the concrete floor. I just have to think and rethink it. It's a one shot deal. If I get it wrong my BACK will punish me for a month. LOL Quote "It ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." - Rocky Balboa

I mean, if the table needs some adjustment so that it wouldn't 'wiggle'? I have to do some 'unwiggling' myself; in fact, the wife said I need to start thinking about where I can move everything away from the kitchen table....but that's another story for a different day! Members Rohn Posted December 30, 2019 Members Report Posted December 30, 2019 Here is my set up with the tomb stone. I had a friend make me wielded aluminum table and I put some castors on it. Makes moving the stone a lot easier. Quote Rohn(John 8:32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (KJV)

Yes the bounce comes because it's built into the bench. I am build something on the lines of what Rhon as done and then build the bench back around it. Quote "It ain't about how hard you hit. How far is it from the floor to the top of the granite. I am thinking this is what I need, then i will rebuild the bench around it. this is what I have now. I would like to maintain the same work station with the tombstone. Quote "It ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." - Rocky Balboa
Members Rohn Posted December 30, 2019 Members Report Posted December 30, 2019 From the floor to the top of my granite is 35" but that could vary by what the individual would want. It works great for me and I sit on a shop stool when I am tooling. I have tooled dozens of belts and hundreds of holsters on mine. Your set up looks nice too. It looks nice, but that about it. to much bounce. The stuff on the bench floats around on it. I am not getting that solid hit like you are on yours. Quote "It ain't about how hard you hit.
