Members Teslabolt Posted January 4, 2020 Members Report Posted January 4, 2020 Has anyone had any luck with these? Tough to believe that they are as good as the $120-$190 one sold at Tandy and Buckleguy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Manual-Press-Machine-Stud-Rivet-Setter-Dies-Tool-Hand-Press-Grommet/264541050596?hash=item3d97e016e4:g:NY8AAOSwcydc8Mp- Quote

The next question is what dies does this press use, and how do the prices of those compare to the Tandy/Buckle Guy dies? Typically you will want to have different sizes of rivet setters, snap setters and grommet setters, so you will want to factor those purchases into the total cost of the press. Quote
Members Teslabolt Posted January 4, 2020 Author Members Report Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) They sell 12.5mm dies for $12 with shipping Edited January 4, 2020 by Teslabolt Quote
Members LeatherLegion Posted January 4, 2020 Members Report Posted January 4, 2020 I bought one of those hoping to replace my Tandy press just because the dies were a lot cheaper . I put it up on Kijiji within couple of days . The dies are very poorly made as most of the snaps will get stuck in them . Quote
Members Halitech Posted January 5, 2020 Members Report Posted January 5, 2020 1 thing I learned very quickly is that you do not want to mix and match Tandy snaps and someone else's dies. I bought a set of glove snap dies from aliexpress. Don't work for shit with Tandy glove snaps. I bought a pack of matching dies from aliexpress, and they work like a charm. And I use the dies with a 1T arbor press from Princess Auto. Quote
