airplaneguy Report post Posted February 10, 2020 Here are a few pictures of my boot pieces. Hopefully I can finish them soon. I need to sew the tops together and then see the uppers to the tops once they dry on the crimp boards. There are a lot of steps and time that go into making a pair of boots. Smartee Report post Posted February 10, 2020 Nice! Looking forward to seeing the process!
airplaneguy Report post Posted February 14, 2020 More pictures. I had to make new vamps because I messed one up. I didn’t have enough of the brown leather so I had to go with a different color. Making boots is way harder than I expected. First picture is the lining sewn to the upper panel. Second picture is the boot turned right side out. The third picture is the boot sitting on a last. Not sure why the pictures are sideways.
kiwican Report post Posted February 14, 2020 Impressive! What's the leather you are using?
airplaneguy Report post Posted February 15, 2020 Thanks Smartee and kiwican. The leather is just scrap I had laying around the shop. It is 2-3 oz. upholstery leather. The lining is glazed pig and the heel counter is 8-9 oz. tooling leather.
