  1. I had it made by Weaver Leather Supply.
  2. I finally got my die made. I have punched out a bunch of shields and now time to practice. Hopefully by the time I am done with this pile, I will have something worth looking at.
  3. 135x16 or 135x17 are the only needles that will work correctly in a Sailrite.
  4. Thanks for the comments. I am learning how to use a swivel knife on the fly. I have found out that my blade is cheap and dull. I have ordered a new blade and a die to cut the shield out. That will make them symmetrical. This is a fun and humbling project. I am realizing how hard tooling is and how bad I am at it! Hopefully I will figure it out soon and then I can start making real shields instead on having a pile of practice pieces.
  5. I have been asked to make a couple of firefighter helmet shields. These are my first practice pieces. The undyed one is far from being done and the black one was practice on stamping. I am open to any suggestions or criticism.
  6. I have an Adler 30-10 for sale as well.
  7. If you haven’t found someone, KD be glad to help. Send me a PM or email me at smoody@phoenixair.com.
  8. Still interested if this machine is still available. PM sent.
  9. Really? Do you think we all work hard just to give OUR stuff away for free so some lazy person can take credit for OUR blood, sweat, tears, and money spent? Unbelievable!
  10. I have one that I am looking to get rid of. Message me and I will send you some pictures.
  11. Check eBay. There are several for sale.
  12. Outstanding work! Your attention to detail is awesome!
  13. Very nice work! Where did you get the thread? I have a customer who wants glow in dark thread and I can’t find anything bigger than Tex 40.
  14. Hats off to you Ferg. I wish more people would take this serious. I just finished 10 mask this morning bringing my total up to 60. I have given away every one I have made and I have not received any help buying material. Wearing a mask protects everyone from you as well as protecting you from everyone. I personally think it is selfish for people not wear one. It is the least they can do to help heal our country. Ferg I don’t think I will ever catch up to how many you have made and I would like to say THANK YOU for your hard work!

    Baseball glove

That is very sad news. If anyone needs a glove repaired, I do them. I have been doing glove repairs and relacing for about 7-8 years.
  16. Sounds good to me. Hope to hear from you in a couple of months.
  17. Nice work! I will be happy if the boots I am working on turn out looking half as good as yours!
  18. Thanks Smartee and kiwican. The leather is just scrap I had laying around the shop. It is 2-3 oz. upholstery leather. The lining is glazed pig and the heel counter is 8-9 oz. tooling leather.
  19. More pictures. I had to make new vamps because I messed one up. I didn’t have enough of the brown leather so I had to go with a different color. Making boots is way harder than I expected. First picture is the lining sewn to the upper panel. Second picture is the boot turned right side out. The third picture is the boot sitting on a last. Not sure why the pictures are sideways.
