Ferryman Report post Posted February 17, 2020 Well postman delivered the Moon Knife this morning and I do believe it is a genuine Don Carlos . The gold shield is still discernible (Just) and the patina on the blade indicate some age. I will give some consideration as to whether to make new scales or just do a simple repair. Ferryman Report post Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Damn Zuludog you sussed me out. I will be cleaning it back and polishing. I tapped the pins out and took the scales off. Unfortunately the handle is a one piece item but I will make 2 separate scales as I am not skilfull enough to make a one piece item. Trox Report post Posted August 8, 2020 Well they are called Cornette in France, French pattern knife or quarter moon knife. Many French, German and British knife makers did them.
