Bert03241 Report post Posted March 3, 2021 I'd like to try and laser engrave a belt. My Problem is my engraver is pass thru front to back and I can only engrave about 14" of the belt at a time. So I need a way to move the belt forward and keep everything in line and matched up. any ideas on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Ferg Report post Posted March 3, 2021 Easiest method for a one off: Use masking tape on your laser base. You didn't say what laser you have. Diode, CO2? Ferg
CastleLeatherWorks Report post Posted March 3, 2021 set up some sort of edge guide that's straight from front to back that you can repeatably locate the work piece off of or pass the work thru. then youll only have to deal with matching up the ends of your burn. gonna take some trial and error for sure depending on how complex the burn is. toxo Report post Posted March 3, 2021 As well as a straight guide, how about pricking a hole at the exact place to start the laser. Then repeat the pricked hole at the exact distance all along the belt?
