Thinking of investing in a Cowboy 8700 to edge crease and emboss belt blanks. Any thoughts, recommendations on how well this works on belt blanks? I don’t expect hand tooling quality, but can it produce sharp images? How useful is a heated roller option for pre-dyed blanks?

I am located in southeast Virginia and looking for a bell skiving machine. I would like to buy direct from a dealer if possible to have some support and save on shipping. Open to suggestions, but looking for something like the Cobra NP-4 or similar clones. I am skiving 4-6 oz chrome tan leather for handbags. I am also possibly interested in a vacuum attachment. Does anyone know who on the east coast sells these machines? Thanks!

Hi, Weavers 8 ton manual clicker has a rather hefty (to me) price tag so I thought I would ask if anyone has had experience with it before I pony up. I would also be grateful if anyone has a lead on a used one in the Maine, Mass, New Hampshire area. Thank you!

Hello hive mind. Can you help me please? I think I'm gonna get one for veg tan anyway but I'm beginning to amass lot's of 3inch squares for patchwork but they're various collections of thicknesses, now do I make piles of each thickness or attempt to split all to a uniform size. Forgive me if this seem strange but I seem to have a sort of brain fart because it took five attempts to write the previous sentence. As much as I'd like a nice hand crank splitter it ain't happening. I'm thinking one of the cheap ones with replaceable blades rather one with the solid knife that has to be sharpened. I'm thinking roughly £70 to £150. Thoughts please.

I would be interested if anyone has one of these available or knows where there may be one for sale. The type with the gauge at the front.... Hopefully with a good blade and generally in good condition or fair condition needing a bit of spoodling. Thanks Kathryn Have a good weekend all

My plan was to buy a new Fratelli Alberti skiving machine, but unless you live in US it's not possible to order it with this specification anymore. A machine without suction device is not available with two motors for some reason. And trying to buy only a head (AV2T) and two motors and belts also seems impossible. (I don't need the table) So I give up trying to buy a new machine. I will look for a used FAV AV2 and add a second motor. Any tips where I find a motor in Europe. A quality motor, absolutely not some Chinese brand motor.

Found this for sale locally. Needs some freshening up and part replacement. Is this a good investment? It is between this and the cobra skiver, which most likely will be new and more expensive.
