I wanted a simple key fob to put on a vehicle fob for identification purposes. On the back I put my cell phone number and on the front a simple design I could do with repurposed tools on hand. The design is the one on the side of the vehicle, and was simple enough to get a clean, clear, debossed design with what I had. Made it out of some scrap, debossed it, put a split ring on it and glued it, dyed, stitched, and sealed it, and it was done. It's in my pocket right now. But after making it, started to wonder if it's legal. No, I'm not going to sell it; it's the best thing I've done stitch-wise, but it's not that good. But how legal is it?

After years of taking my one belt from one pair of trousers to use on another pair, bearing in mind what I do I finally got disgusted enough with myself to start on three more. Bearing in mind that my world is practical and not for the benefit of others, it will just be one layer and rivets so I should be finished by the end of today.

Looking for advice. I'm using a Seiko CW-8. Sewing with 138 thread and appropriately sized needle. It will sew belt after belt 1/4" - 5/16" just fine. When I'm building holsters with layers of 5/16" a few slightly more, I'm having issues. I don't know if this is called a skipped stitch or not. I understand this machine will handle 3/8" thick veg and I'm not having to force the material under the foot so I think I'm less than that. It will be stitching beautifully but sometimes when I'm making a tight radius turn literally a stitch at a time, lifting my presser foot with the needle down, the top stitch will ride on top for a few stitches showing the bobbin thread. It will …

What I'm really wanting is one good oval punch that I can use on all pancake sheaths and holsters for the belt holes. Can anyone recommend an all around good size and a quality punch? Thanks!

Alec Steele YouTube blacksmith that occasionally does other things just for fun. This one caught my eye a day or so ago. Not necessarily anything useful for us, but entertaining to watch in any case! - Bill

Ok supposedly there are no stupid questions, so let’s test the theory… I’ll take for granted that you aren’t supposed to use gum trag on suede. Why? What happens? If I’m burnishing the flesh side anyway, wouldn’t it help? In the meantime, I’ll be using edge paint and hope for the best. Still feels like my first rodeo, AZR

I really struggle sourcing quality snaps. They basically just pop open with the least amount of pressure. I need to build a couple of belts and I want to buy some quality snaps in a variety of colors. Lets GO!

Across the posts I've seen a ton of different organizer solutions. Most of them are home grown. I'm always looking for the next better mouse trap, so show me your tool organizer. Here's my current solution, but show me yours. Uses a 3 foot section of 2 x 4 cut in 2. One of the boards is slimmed down to create an opening that does 2 things. Keeps the dirt, leather plugs, etc. out of the bottom of the hole and lets me see the color marks on the back end of my stamps. For stamps that look similar I mark the back ends with some colored electrical tape. I've never seen anyone else do this, but it just makes sense to me. Easy to spot the low angle beveler v…
