Another fascinating piece from Peter... In case of a power outage...or just to set the mood The candle is white kangaroo...the holder is gold-leafed roo...both are 'pared' paper-thin. A wire runs through all for stability. Peter

Hi fellow leathercrafters, here is a picture of a miniature saddle I did here a while back and 3 mini cowboy hats fashioned after the big one I made to wear and a quarter to show their size Karl

I've been doing well selling the larger ones from Tandy's pattern sheet, so I decided to try some minis. My best friend used to make these, so I'd seen them before. What I do is use a brad (that's officially what it's called) for the center, pushing it through all the pieces including a small circle on the back, and glue a pinback on the circle. (My friend used a rivet, and a small rectangle of leather on the back.) Have attached some extra pictures for reference. Colors are acrylics. Glue is Alene's. Leather is 3-4 oz tooling kip.

Decided to make a sheath for my knife. Took a cigar tube that was too small and cut it down and added my Spider touch. This was a quickie...

Peter has done it again... Hello, ...firstly I must thank Frank J Zaharek Jr who was kind enough to send me the buckle blank. I carved a one dollar coin and inlayed it into alligator....the buckle is lined with kangaroo (saw how to do this in an old leathercraft book). Because of the (unattractive metal) loop being visible when worn, I have covered it with goatskin. Will post the completed belt and accessories at a later date. Peter

This is my latest project. This is Traditional (1/9) Scale set. It contains: · Weymouth Bridle with "Gold" Plated Browband & Cheek Pieces and 5 strand hand-braided "web" snaffle · White Gala Saddle · "Gold" Plated Crupper · "Gold" Plated Breast Collar · Blanket with hand-braided trim the same shade of gold as the web snaffle bridle with two gold bands indicating rider status as fit for performances. BTW, the horse is a Balidor sculpted by Pat Sinnot. No, it isn't painted yet. Fitting tack to a model can be hazardous to paint finishes, so it's best to use a "body quality" or unpainted model.

Ok, after thinking on this project for 11 months, I finally have a finished product. This was the first time for me to make anything from scratch. It didn't turn out to bad, NOT great by any means. Seems as though some pieces got longer and some shorter as I was sewing everything together so the top flap didnt fit the way it was supposed to. It is definatly better than what I was keeping the maps in. Anyway Here are pics of my latest Map Pouch project.

This is a briefcase I made for my bride. The sides are HO saddle skirt and it has a hair-on hide gusset and interior. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
