  1. Thank you, and I would not be apposed at all in making it digital, as I would make it that way anyway. It definitely would make it easyer to get out to the masses.
  2. I have been toying around with the idea of putting together a book on the floral style that my father (Gene Noland) developed. I want it to be more than just pics of his style, how to tool them, and tracing patterns. I would like to show step by step how to layout Flowers, Leaves, Scrolls, etc. and put together a full design but shaping them in different ways and how to make everything flow together. Soooo, my question at this point is do all of you feel that it would be worth my effort to put this together, and sell it at a reasonable price, if there would be enough interest. I have been wanting to start a Foundation in my fathers name, which would give out award's and maybe money to further the education of leather crafting. Proceeds from this book would go a long way in providing funds for this. Please give me your honest thoughts. My best to everyone.
  3. Take your modeling tool to the auto parts store, ask to see what sizes of rubber air/vacuum/ hose sizes they have. Try to fit the stylus end into each, find one that fits snug, buy a couple of feet, cut to length, and press onto tool, save the left over for the future. My best to you.
  4. Just heard from Anne Newkold George Hurst had a heart attack on Friday. and has heart catheterization surgery on Tuesday. Everyone keep him and his family in our prayers.

  8. Storm, I’ve been watching your doodles on floral designs, and I must say it’s very nice to see someone designing new stuff. You are doing and great job and your designs are excellent. Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next. My best to you, Dennis.
  9. Here is the clutch purse I made my daughter for Christmas. Again one of my fathers designs fitted to the size of the purse.
  10. Looks like a Lacquer finish. Like Neat-Lac or Clear-Lac type finish. They really give it a shiny finish. My best.
  11. Very nice Tim. I'm sure they will put them to good use. A true gift comes from the heart, just like these. My best to you.
  12. Thanks Hilly and Dirtglod. King's X, thank you very much, hope I'm getting better at it. My best.
  13. Here is the Hand Bag / Clutch Purse I made for my wife as a Christmas Gift. It's a Tandem Handbag kit from Tandy. Both sides have the same panel design. The design was one that I took and modified from a design my father did for a tri-fold wallet. I changed the design to follow the arc of the panel, and double beveled the center cross pattern to make it look like stones. I then painted the center stones to look like Turquoise stones using Cova paints. Let me know what you think of the design. My best to everyone, and Happy New Year, Dennis.
  14. Here is what I got, it's a Work Sharp 2000 Tool Sharpener. Boy OH Boy what I'm going to use this for? You guessed it, sharpening my leather working tools. Check out their web sight: www.worksharptools.com Merry Christmas everyone. My best to all, Dennis.
  15. I had one of those too. Lasted for about 5 years then the side got smashed. Cheap plastic.
  16. Actually this is from 1995. So it's not that old. My best.
  17. Look at what I just got. Still in the original plastic rap, never been opened. Sam, got a package coming at you my friend. Dennis.
  18. All I can say is: ANOTHER MASTERPIECE by BOB PARK'S. I sure hope I can get my skills back up to where they used to be and some day come close to yours. My best to you, Dennis.
  19. What is your water supply? City or Well? If you have a well have your water checked for mineral content. Bruce could be right about the iron if its coming from your water. If you have high iron in your water you could get a water purifier filter to use for your leather casing.
  20. Here's what I've Been doing. After dieing I coat with a generous coat of neat-lac, let dry 6-8 hours. This lets the leather soak up the wax's and oil's. Then I put on a generous coat of Tandy super sheen let dry 2-4 hours. The plastic coating seams to seal the pore's better without having to put on 2-3 coats of neat-lac to get it sealed. Let dry. Apply antique and wipe off. Let dry for 8-16 hours. Apply one last coat of neat-lac. This has been working for me so far. Antique is something I'm learning myself, my farther never used them much so I don't remember what he did. My best, Dennis.
  21. I've had the same problem. The resist didn't seal the top pores of the leather and the antique sucked right into the pores. Another light coat of resist would have prob did the trick. I've never tried deglazer, so I don't know if you can save it. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this. My best, Dennis.
  22. If not, I just found and bought one of the complete original kits on Ebay. I can make copies for you.
  23. Both are just beautiful Sam. Wonderful Tooling and your stitching and lacing are superb. I love to see your work. My best to you.
  24. Here are some my father did. Doodle Page Series 1D Page 2. PM me if you see one you like. My best, Dennis.
