  9. Very cool case John. I really like how you 'hid' the back panel by sewing along the lines of the scales. Very unique look and you keep coming up with the coolest little features. I loved Chris's case with the JP pocket! That was genius. Thanks for always thinking out of the box. It's a big inspiration. ~R

Rocky, your work is always so rich and elegant. Very clean lines with nothing wasted. Beautiful stuff!

    Guitar pick case

You're a genius! I never even thought of the idea of a pick case. I've been playing (and losing guitar picks) for years. OK, now I have to make myself a guitar pick case. Thank you!

    Happy Birthday!

  14. That's just great work Rusty. As JB has said before, everything about your work is just perfect. Great planning, great design, and flawless execution. Ok, out of personal curiosity... what kind of pool cue do you play with?

So clean and sharp! Awesome work. Love the ostrich leg!
  16. Incredible work Troy! Really unique tooling and just super clean. Wow!
  17. Thanks for the very kind words! I used the Eco Flow water based colors from Tandy. I reduced them down with water trying to avoid the thick paint look. But there is only so much you can do and still keep the colors bold. Actually, out here in California it's pretty much the only dyes we can use. Fiebing just introduced an alcohol/acetone out here last week with a low VOC which I'm pretty excited about. It dries completely in 15 minutes and looks great. I'm going to do some color testing with it this week. Maybe post it as a product review or something. Best wishes, Rex
  18. Hey everyone. Wow.. I think I already started posting in the wrong area. I'm off to a great start! Anyway, I just got into leather crafting a few months ago and I absolutely love it. My original goal was to make myself one cue case but from the moment I sat down and started trying to do tooling it just felt right, and fun, and incredibly relaxing. I'm hooked for sure. I'm definitely inspired by everything and trying to learn as much as possible. This site sure is a wealth of knowledge! I don't want to keep babbling.. so I'll post up some pictures of a cue case I'm working on... I really wanted to do something different and challenging (to me) with lots of tooling and color dying. This is the outer piece of a cue case that wraps around a hard shell interior. I'll post pictures in the gallery section once I get it all together and completed. Thanks!
  19. Heya Dave, Welcome to the site. I'm just down the road in Fremont. If you come by Tandy on a Saturday for a workshop make sure you stop by and say hi. Looking forward to checking out pics of your projects! ~Rex
  20. Hi everyone. Guess I'll follow the lead and introduce myself with a project I'm working on. I've only been doing leather work for a few months now but I absolutely love it. From the moment I sat down and tried some tooling it just felt right and relaxing and fun. I think I'm pretty luck at the moment because absolutely everything is inspiring. Anyway, I don't want to keep blabbing away so I'll just post some pics of a cue case I'm working on at the moment. I wanted to do something different and challenging (to me) with a lot of tooling and use of colors. I'll post up more pictures when I get the project completed. Thanks!
  21. Love what you're doing Wolfgang! I'm just getting set up here on this site as well. Looking forward to seeing much more of your work.. great job!
  22. I'm voting for Mad River too. Are you on AZ Billiards by chance? Some great pool cue case makers that do some posting there as well. I got in to leather crafting just to make cue cases. The minute I sat down to do some tooling I loved it. Best wishes!
  23. Hi Tina, I'm new to the forum and am really interested in 'arty' type tooling work. Just wanted to stop and say that's awesome work! Very inspiring.. thank you for taking the time to share it. Thank you. ~Rex
