Gday Grady howz the lace chase going mate ??? I am doing a vid on the weekend for mate that has got one of my lace cutter/ beveller tools , So if you are still looking for some whiskey lace and you have about 10 days up your sleeve before you need it just send me a message with the amount you would need to do the whole job { yes you will have to undo what you have done !!!! I use a drum stuffed roo hide that whip makers use , it is greasey and very nice to use , i am not sure what the spool stuff is like but i would think it would be dry. As I said mate I am cutting lace this weekend so let me know how much ya want and i will cut it and post to you free of charge , just to help ya out if its not to late Cheers for now Bevan www.bwrwhips.com

Spence you are on the ball !!! packers have the best hides that i have used so far and i know Fiddle dont wont to go that way yet but cut your own and you will allways have the lace you want and as cheap as you can get !!! when i want a certian size to cover a nose button or a heel knot , i just cut it to the size i need , no gap no prob !!and it is much cheaper cheers Bevan ps , i sell a cutter / beveller that i use on roo hides bwrwhips.com

Gday again darl xoxox lol have you ever tried twisting a piece of 4mm wide roo for a core ?? cut it 4mm wet it , then twist , roll it and let it dry ,,,, then i grease it and have a perfect core for a thin braclet The twisted core will be about 2mm in dia if i want to use a 8 plait to cover this I would cut my strings 1.125 mm wide remember the rule of thumb ,, dia (2mm)x 4.5 =(9)div by the number of strings i want to use (8) = 1.125 The finished project would end up at about 5 mm thick with no gaps and nice and round This is why i like using roo too mate ,, it is as tuff as !!!!! plus we have plenty Cheers Bevan www.bwrwhips.com

Long time no talk mate , but i would not do a 8plait with out a core , it will look like a square circle !!!! 4 plait with out a core ,,, fine ,, anything else ,,, i would use a core and if you have a prob with the core showing thru then you havent got your string size right!! remember the golden rule , dia x 4.5 =? div by the number of strings you want to use =? now that is the size strings i would cut for a perfect cover !!! When i do a 12mm / 12inch bosal i know the finaloverlay will add about 3 mm to my finnished work so the core size will be about the 9mm mark or 3/8 for my USA mates Cheers from down under www.bwrwhips.com

This is the Dean Willams splitter , awesome on fine strings !! But there are heaps out there , so you have to make ya own mind up mate , this is what i find works for me, all ally and held in one hand adjustment made on the end of the handle Cheers Bevan

Gday Arno I use a Dean Williams splitter for my fine roo & rawhide strings and I am very happy with his strander aswell This is the best combo i have found that works well with my Beveler / resizer Cheers from down under www.bwrwhips.com

Gday Caroline Gee that is some very nice swivel knifework mate , lacing and air brush is top knotch as always. Cheers Bevan ps I have got 2 knives come from Bryan (a member on this forum ) and might need some guiedance!!! as i would like to be as neat as your work is.
