Thanks. I'm not entirely happy with the acrylic reslone on top of the two coats of dye. It got some bubbles in it somehow. -
This is my first holster I made. It's for my Brother's Christmas gift. Thoughts, comments, feedback are appreciated!

Great idea! I have one of those weaver edger strops and this is definitely a "why didn't I think of that?" item!

I have a couple of dyes (about a qt each) that the original bottles broke on me. I transferred them into mason jars which was useful, but now the lids are starting to rust and leak. I was thinking of moving to something like Nalgene bottles, but not sure if that is the right direction to go.... I have a trip coming up and would like to take them along in something less breakable than glass. What do you do when this happens?

Along this line, How have you guys mounted yours? My wife got me one for Christmas....

I would love to see your ideas! My workshop is mostly wood oriented at the moment, but hoping Santa will bring me some metal working tools (and silversmithing)

Has anyone tried making one of these out of hardwood? Success or failure? I have more hardwood that steel in my shop. Besides, how was this done before steel and Iron was widley available?

I'm looking for a pattern for a bow glove. Does anyone have one? Could a regular glove pattern be adapted to use with my English Long Bow? I'm looking for something like this: http://www.3riversarchery.com/Armguards+Gloves+Tabs++Hawkwood+Bowglove_c1_s41_p0_i4002X_product.html or http://www.3riversarchery.com/Armguards+Gloves+Tabs++Robin+Hood+Bracer_c1_s41_p0_i8540X_product.html

My wife says my leather is taking over and spreading. She would like me to move it into the basement with my wood shop. I am concerned that the moisture level may be damaging to the leather. Does anyone know of any guides to humidity and can recommend steps to remediate it?

Leather Mug Lining - Paraffin Wax?
DuncanSinclair replied to Urshag's topic in Historical Reenactment
Myself and at least 1 other in the SCA are using single filtered bees wax. Also, beware of using wood for bottoms (especially pine). We are using wet formed leather for bottoms. -
Congratulations to my lovely wife for Wulfwen being put on vigil for the Order of the Laurel (Cooking) after Crown Tourney feast day in the Middle Kingdom! I love you baby! You so deserve this!!!!
