  1. Keep us updated. I did this about six weeks ago, and now I'm selling 4-5 per week. It's really fun, and I'm about to get all my tools and supplies paid for, as well as the holsters i originally wanted.
  2. As I asked another poster, have you considered a couple of rivets placed in such a fashion that would prevent the blade from cutting through the stitching through wear or an accidental fall? Yuor knives are very beautiful. o you have a web site?
  3. I'd like to see a couple of stragically placed rivets to keep the blade from cutting through the stitches which could occur from repeated unsheathing and resheathing or the accidental fall.
  4. http://www.jdlawhon.com/tutorial.html This tutorial helped me immensly.
  5. I think the sheaths look very professional. Now let's talk about the knives. Do you sell them? If so, do you have a website or something? They are beautiful.
  6. Looks good to me. Have you ever tried stamping the basketweave pattern at about a 45 degree angle instead of horizontal? It's something I like, but I'm kinda wierd.
  7. Yes sir. I'd leave extra in the end of the barrel area for the extra length. I'd also put a wood dowel in the sight groove to allow for target sights. some early K frames didn't have an ejector shroud, the rest did. It appears the mold has an ejector shroud, so either model would still fit the holster.
  8. After watching me for some time, my boys decided it was time for them to do a project. We decided on belts. They used to never wear a belt, but now they won't leave home without them. I love to see the pride on their faces when they show someone the belts they made. I think they did quite well for their first attempt. The brown one was made by my eleven year old from a plain blank, and the black one was made by my six year old from a rollmarked blank. They did these under my instruction, but with very little help from me.
  9. http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum3844.php They are both K frames and the same size depending on barrel length. Does this help?
  10. Thanks. That was exactly what I was looking for.
  11. If you are making an IWB holster with belt loops and snaps, do the belt loops need to be sewn to the holster, or does the snap secure the straps good enough? Thanks in advance for any help you could give.
  12. Thanks. I like it. I think I paid $250 for it at a show a few years back. I like the old Smiths, but shy away from the prices. I'd love to buy a bunch of shooter grades, but all of them I find have mint prices on them. http://smith-wessonforum.com/forum.php You ever go here? There are things in there that will really make your mouth water! The J frame belongs to my wife. It is a flat latch model 37. She has the correct grips, but carries it, and likes the rubbers better. It's a pretty nice revolver.
  13. It's a hack job. It started out as a 455 British. It was rechambered for 45 Colt, the barrel cut and recessed crowned to 4", and different sights added. I wash it was original for value purposes, but I like it because it shoots great.

  15. Lobo, I see your point and feel you are a guy with great integrity. If a maker's design isn't patented or copyrighted, why wouldn't it be fair game to copy it? Would you be upset or flattered if someone copied your designs? I think I'd lean more toward being flattered. Just giving you a different perspective from which to look at it.
  16. Thanks you, sir, so much for taking the time to post this. I really enjoyed trying it and had no trouble following your instructions. You are a gifted instructor.
  17. Man! That is beautiful. I'd sure love to learn to carve like that. Keep up the good work.
  18. I've only been at this about a month and I look forward from learning a lot from all of you. In fact, I just found this site yesterday, and I've already learned quite a bit. Thanks.
  19. I'm from Lafayette. Thanks for the welcome. Where are you?
  20. Greetings from Tennessee! I was bored and the weather was bad after Christmas, and I was having trouble finding a holster for my 51 Remington, so I figured I'd go to the leather store, get some tools, and see if I could make one. It didn't turn out too bad, and I have plenty of pistols, so I tried another. Of course it was a little better. The third one was a keeper and I am hooked. I'm glad I found this forum and hope to learn a lot from you all.
