  1. Do they have a web site? The one I found didn't go anywhere.
  2. I got a new blade for my stitch groover and it last just long enough for a couple groves. All it does now is mark. I got it from Mainline but it is a Tandy and I'm heading there this weekend for a class so I'll talk to them about it. Is there a better groover out in leather land?
  3. With that as a demo I'm sure work will be coming your way. Great job!
  4. I have noticed it's too thick. I will get a good head knife someday but until then. My skinner will have to do.
  5. I thought I'd bring this post back to life. I've lived all over from Iowa, Alaska to Hawaii and many stops inbetween. I currently live in Florida but my heart is in Montana where we left 1 1/2 years ago. Kootenai Falls, Montana (that's my wife and daughter on the swinging bridge) Glacier National Park-30 miles from where we lived Glacier National Park Glacier National Park Glacier National Park-The Weeping Wall-Going To The Sun Road Whitefish, Montana
  6. Thanks so much for that. I was struggling in my holster design and you simplified it so much.
  7. Thank you for that Paul. I'm hoping to get to Tandy in Orlando next Saturday for a carving lesson.
  8. The holster seems to belong with the 1911. Great match.

    Extreme Griz!

Wow! When I first saw this I thought it was a photograph. WOW!
  10. I did a Firefox search on leather working and the first site I came to was making bondage equipment. Not quit what i was looking for. Thought it was funny though.
  11. As a new leather worker I've had to adapt a bit to save money. I have a game knife that is shaped like an ulu that I've been using to cut leather. It's done pretty good in cutting as long as I keep it sharp-I'm cutting about 9 oz leather. Some day I'll invest in a head knife but will probably get other leather tools first. Just wanted to tell the new leather workers that there are ways to get around buying all new stuff right away.
  12. I started by making Kydex holsters but they were not very good looking. There's only so much you can do to Kydex to make it look good. So I did one in leather and thought I could improve on it. I love to work with my hands (I'm a plumber). I also have a CCW and want a good looking holster. Of course few will see it since it will be concealed. It also keeps me busy since I got laid off November of last year.
  13. Service Plumber for past 15 years-currently unemployed.
  14. Are you the one I've seen on Youtube? they are great.

  15. I'll be lurking a while and my ask a few questions as I dive into the art of leather. I've seen some amazing work here! I made two holsters today. I made two because the first one sucked and am in the process of making the second. I'm making a holster for my KelTec P3AT. I'm starting out with a small gun to save leather. Nice being here.
