KG leather kote I have been using this stuff for a while now and I wonder if anyone else is. This is great I think, it has the consistency of canned condensed milk. And it is applied with your finger, it is a coating that I rub in on the inside of the Holster and it gives the holster almost a feeling of a kydex holster, almost all pressure is gone with drawing and holstering a gun, if it tightly boned at the trigger guard and the ejection port, you will fill a distinct snap when holstering. I know there are other slickening agents out on the market and I have no reviews on them but I like this stuff and will continue to use it .. let me know if yall have any experience with this stuff.

Some Recent Work
bitone40 replied to particle's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
As always beautiful work my man . I love the way you make the black holsters look, and as far as that splotchey one for the glock , I was running into the same problem when I would use the oil dye on the piece 1st and then sew and wet mould, some places would be darker than others and I didnt care for the look that much , I guess the oil dye's don't mix well with water on top of them. Now I just dye (oil dye)after the moulding unless I use spirit dyes which can be used before or after moulding and not leave any water marks. Now adays I just use the oil dye for black holsters and the regular dyes for all other colors. I was having a hard time getting the black spirit dye into the compressed leather after moulding and the oil dye soaks right in with no problems . Again beautiful work . Thanks for sharing -
Thanks!! And your right, that was done with a airbrush . Thanks Mike !!That means alot coming from a old grumpy man, lol !!!

Hey Rayban , I just did like I do all other holsters , trace the stitch pattern, mark the stitch holes and then I just used a compass/wign divider to keep the same length between the two rows and then free handed the swirl line . Hey Particle, Thanks for the comments , Yea I did want to run the stitching all the way down on the right side but I did not have enough room for the two parallel stitch lines and the third line coming back up to swirl, so I just had to do it like it is . As far as ending the stitching, actually the 1st hole in the swirl on both sides was the starting point for the stitching, I went up the swirl, outwards on the ears and up the profile of the gun and at the end, back-stitched 3 holes. Hope this helps

I made this Holster to try sell but I love the way it came out. I decided to use it as my own carry rig . I needed a new one anyways. A customer bought my on the spot . Enjoy

Overlaying Exotics
bitone40 replied to jlaudio29's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
although I do not have any pictures of the edges on this holster , I have done this one holsters and I had to glue the elephant to a piece of 2-3 oz to give it some back bone, sand , dye and burnish as you would normal veg-tan and you should be ok , and then glue and stitch to main body and then complete item as you would . ps. I would glue a oversized piece of the exotic and a oversized piece of vegtan together and when glue is dried, trim that piece into your desired shape . I hope this helps any bd -

bitone40 replied to bitone40's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes

And shooter that holster looks great, I just started with the exotics that I received from another member and im starting to like working with it. Ill post some pics when im done with it here in a couple of days. Thanks again -
Hey guys, I know this is the wrong section but I saw a post in the exotic section about some elephant and didn't get any replys so ill ask in here since it is for a holster anyways . I did a holster with some elephant and I noticed it did not take dye very well, it finally soaked in afer a day but was sticky until it dried, now my question is does elephant need a finish like resolene or super shine, im sure it does but I just want to ask incase it does not . Thanks for any help I can get , you guys are the greatest Ben

An Experiment
bitone40 replied to blanddragon's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
That's a good question. There are training facilities that have perfected that technique , there are quite a few differentiation ways, one of the major players in that action is your sights, where you insert a new magazine and rack the slide on your belt or a hard object using the rear sight to push the frame forward engaging the slide to chamber a round. One training video I saw the instructor ejected the spent magazine and turned the pistol around and inserted the gun in his holsterbackwards to hold the gun and while his hand was free, he did a cross draw movent to get the new magazine and inserted it into the grip, clicked it in and pulleed it out of the holster and used the the holster to catch the sights for a chambering of a fresh round. It was a pretty cool move and he did it in all of about 20 seconds or less andhe showed how it worked worked with either arm -

New Cross Draw / Appendix
bitone40 replied to JRCHolsters's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Hello and very nice holster, I do however have a question on the two models you mentioned, what are the differences, I was under the assumption that they where all the same size, as far as the 9mm & 40 sw , in texas the academy stores had a special on those guns and everyone bought them, I had 5 orders placed within 2 weeks for that model and so that led me to buy the blue gun from rings, I have completed 2 already but have not delivered yet. Please explain, and I almost took another order for one yesterday also, he will contact me later if he decides to get one. Thanks for your help Ben Edit --- ok I see, I knew there was a rail perse for a laser and such but didn't think it made such a difference where you have to modify fake gun, maybe I am wrong, that is the only difference I see and if there is more please explain. Thanks again -

A Lot Of Leather For A Lot Of Gun
bitone40 replied to Mark Garrity's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Is that the pistol that has " 8 times " on the side of the barrel ?, a family member has the same gun and that is the best trigger I have ever felt on any gun and it shoots like a dream, that is a very nice holster to go with a very nice gun, great job -
Well I placed my 1st order with them on Friday by phone, I just bought a sewing machine and I had some questions and Mr.Levy was very helpful in answering them , I placed my order with another gentleman and was giving a call back with the price and shipping cost, and I said ship it. I received my order on Tuesday all packaged nice and tight with everything that I ordered. I just want to say that they gave me great customer service and very fast shipping and I do recommend them and will be doing business with them in the future. Thanks Levy
