I have checked the entire tension springs and parts. All ok. I have the tension screw adjusted almost off the post and it still is not pulling the thread inside, or below the surface.
Which thread, top or bottom? Pictures of the top and bottom stitches would help.

Hello Charlie,
So I am in the process of making one for my swivel knives now. I also came across Kathy Flanagan's SK-3 Swivel Knife Holster.
Did you glue yours together instead of lacing like she did? By chance do you know what size punch hole she used to make the holes to lace? I can not find any patterns out there that show step by step what to do. Oh and you should be proud of your work you did a great job.
This is an old thread.
Charlie hasn't been around since March 2016.

Anyone know anything about this saddle maker? Mostly just curious about it as it is a name I hadn’t heard before. Thank you!
Some photos may help perk some interest. Reduce photo sizes to 800 pixels in the longest dimension so they fit the size constraints here.

Merged the 2 threads into one since they are dealing with the same problem.

On the cowboy 0797, once I'm finished sewing the bottom strand comes out with two or more pieces of thread. Does anyone know what's happening?
You already have this question in another post. Don't need to clutter up the site with multiple instances of the same thing. Stick with it instead of starting a new thread. You can go to that post and see that I answered what you problem is likely to be.

@NorthmountNow I'm having another problem 🥴 Once I'm finished sewing, my bottom strand is coming out with two strands of thread, almost like it's getting tangled or something down there?
Turn the handwheel a little further until the take up lever is all the way to the top before you pull the piece out from under the foot.

Hey, I'd absolutely love to be able to create something with the patterns. Is it possible to email me the pattern file? I understand that I can't sell the pattern itself but would I be able to sell what I make out of them? I plan to modify the patterns a bit too Jic if that's okay too.

If you would take the time to track through the thread, you would find the file is posted several comments back. Feb 27, 2022

I've had my sewing machine for about six months (cowboy 797). It worked great until yesterday when I tried sewing. (On the leather) The bottom strand wasn't sewing, it was just a string holding the top strand in place. I could pull it out, and it wasn't threaded through a stitch. Has anyone run into this problem and know how to fix it?
Check any changes to the top tension. Make sure the thread is properly seated between the tension disks. What changed? Increase the top tension if the only thing you did different was sew leather instead of something else, or thicker or harder leather.
Changes in needle or thread also affect the tension.
You need enough top tension to pull the knot up into the leather.

You appear to be using a standard conical point needle best suited to fabrics. Switch to a leather point that cuts a small slot rather than blowing out the bottom side. More members will be along with similar comments. You can do some research in this forum about what needles to use.

Found singer, sewing machines 29K 72 and 29K 51 for sale the 72 they're telling me the wheel turns not really easy the 51 she says turns a lot easier growing I've seen so far they look intact the 51 Looks like it's missing a wheel on the front 72 has a motor, but it needs new belts and it doesn't turn easy at the moment. was wondering, what a good offer I should make for them both in a package so both parties are happy.
Something happened to these photos. They are no longer accessible, reducing any value this thread could have. Please re-post here. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate as most monitors, tablets, smart phones can't show high resolutions. 800 pixels nicely fills the screen for most devices and browsers.

If you want to get a user's attention, you need to either quote at least a portion of their post or tag them. Since I quoted part of your post, you will get a notification that I have done that, depending on your profile settings regarding notifications.
A second way of notifying a person, is to tag them. You to that by typing the @ symbol followed by the username and picking it from the popup box. Apologies to @chuck123wapati for using his ID in this example. Now he will get a notification since I tagged him.
