  1. PLEASE-E-E-E-E pursue getting your money back from PayPay and doing whatever is needed to notify eBay!!! I am a seller and buyer on eBay and truly believe in the "FEEDBACK" system that is in place. Most dealers work hard to keep a "100% positive" rating because that is their main sort of pedigree attesting to their products, service and integrity. Again....please do everything possible to get your money back, and file a claim. With all postings, I always give an accurate and honest description of the item......if you were'nt advised the saddle was "bent" or out of alignment.....YOU DO HAVE A LEGITIMATE CLAIM and should receive your money back (including shipping)!
  2. [quote name='buckeroo1' timestamp='1296534371' post='18455 I am looking for a pair of "Al Ray" stirrup buckles for a N. Porter saddle made in 1928. Does anybody know where I might find a new set of these (horizontal)?
  3. I am looking for a pair of stirrup buckles for a N. Porter saddle made in 1928. Does anybody have a "good" working set, or know where I might find a set of these?
  4. Thanks for the info...."the checks in the mail!" to England. Actually, the manual is in the process of being sent to me.....thanks to PayPal! I already have the "4-page" copy from Proleptic which was not what I was looking for. Thanks again for your assistance and taking the time to respond. I never would have found "England" without you wonderful help.
  5. Does anyone have an Adler 104 service manual they would sell or make copies of? I would appreciate ANY assistance you might be able to provide. Thanks!!
  6. I have an ol' Adler 104 and wouldn't think of parting with it......its old and it is reliable!!! If the machine you're interested in is a 104.....BUY IT, you certainly won't be disappointed!
  7. I am compiling a new book that I hope will be completed by late spring or early summer listing as many known saddlers as possible. I pretty much have the old saddlers of days gone by taken care of and listed. It is the CURRENT SADDLE MAKERS that are bogging me down! If you want to guarantee your being listed then PLEASE CONTACT ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE by contacting with the following information: Your name; Company name; Address; Phone number; Date business started; Specialties (if any). When this book is completed it will simplify the dating of any saddle with a 'Maker' stamp. I would also appreciate being notified of any saddle maker(s) that you may know of in your area. If I already have the maker's name....great!. If I don't have the name, you will be doing the maker a favor and insure that their name is listed. Thanks again for any and all assistance.
  8. There is an excellent FREE tutorial at www.bowstock.co.uk and it should help with patterns and other things. While on the subject, you might want to check out another UK site......www.kingmorecrafts. Hope this helps!!!
  9. Do you have an ol' USED CLICKER PRESS gathering dust in your shop or garage? I am looking for one in "working" condition similar to the attached photo! Cosmetic condition is not important as long as it works If you know of someone that has one ANYWHERE in Texas or a nearby state please contact me at bkronnick@yahoo.com.
  10. I couldn't live without it!!!!! I guess I am just ol' school! Whenever I am tooling items such as wallets, portfolios or checkbook covers I get the x-ray film.......slop some rubber cement on it AND the leather I will be tooling on (I "case" my leather prior to gluing) and just let my artistic talents run wild (smile)!! When my item is complete....I don't have a bunch of masking tape to peel off in total frustration!! Because I do a lot of Sheridan style....it just slides on my tooling block so-o-o-o much easier. Any 'residue' from the rubber cement is minimal.....and is usuall backed anyway. So....if you are asking your question to find out if anyone else uses it, put me at the top of your list. If you asked the question to find out if anyone uses it and you have some to give-away or sell, then put me at the top of that list also....ok? My email address is bkronnick@yahoo.com. Hope I answered your question.....take care and keep toolin' !!! Buckeroo1
  11. If there ain't a Tandy store nearby....you should go to Springfield Leather on the internet....they are even better than a TandyLeatherFactory store. Download their catalog (its free) and you should find everything you need to get started in this wonderful world of leather. Careful though.....what you are now calling a "hobby" can easily become your "profession!" Good luck and enjoy a whole new and exciting world!!!!
  12. Save your money and do not put a lot of ANY kind of oil on it......too much oil is as bad as not enough oil!! My gut tells me that you should just let the "mice and birds" have at it.....and find something else to do with your time.
  13. Just wanted to add my "2 cents" to the previous reply. If ya ask 10 saddle makers a question.....you're sure to get 12 or more different replies! Anyway, there is NO reason a DAUBER can't be used for all edge dyes of any type....oil or waterbased!! However, I always burn the fuzz off ALL my daubers by simply igniting them like a "tiki torch" and let 'em burn for a moment before blowing them out. You will find a "crusty" ash, kinda like a roated marshmello.....but if you rub it off with your fingers, the dauber will be ready to use. Finally, I hang all my used daubers on a rack because I only use oil dyes....and daubers can certainly be used over numerous times (one color per dauber).

    Belt Buckles

The "Best Kept Secret" in buckles and hardware has to be Beiler's Mfg. and Supply @ 3025 Irishtown Road, Ronks, PA. 17572.....Telephone: (717) 768-0174. Let me add.... Beiler's is primarily a suppler to the buggy industry and the wonderful people that still believe in the old ways of living. They don't use fancy boxes like other companies (that we pay for in the long run)....nor do they use a computerized book keeping system.....old fashion hand written invoices!!! They produce a BEAUTIFUL and complete catalog and believe me their prices are hard to beat ANYWHERE! If you compare their prices agains Weaver's....you'll save a bunch of $$$$$! BEILER'S IS THE FIRST CATALOG I PICK UP WHEN LOOKING FOR ANYTHING! p.s They have fantastic leather and supply me with all of my LINEN THREAD!!!!

Send the information to me at: bkronnick@yahoo.com as soon as possible. Thank you, hope to hear from you soon.
