  1. Ive been following this topic with much interest, so decided to have a go myself, I got a bottle of clear malt vinegar and added some rusty nails, well over the past few weeks, i've tested it and its been getting stronger by the day. Well I clean forgot all about it, then just now whilst me and my misses were watching a thriller on tv , we heard a the sound of a window breaking,, well we both jumped up right and searched the house for what we thought was someone trying to break in.. turns out my bottle of vinegar ,, exploded.. yep I forgot to release the pressure, and I guess it had been building up all that time. So in order to save you the benefit of my experience, maybe best to let the lid of now and then or put a pin hole in the cap. Anyway .. Night all.. Great thread BTW.. thanks for sharing this technique.. Im gonna start again in the morning !!
  2. I could'nt even imagine the time and labour that you must have put into your creation. I wish I could say something that would give it the respect it deserves, but im speechless. Thanks for sharing , its awesome!!

  8. Hi All ! As you can tell im not one for posting, but I do like this forum and the community that has grown from it. I thought I would share something I just made. Ive been experimenting with eco-flo antique gel dye, it was a bit too heavy for my liking and became difficult to remove so I ended up dying the whole project black. Oh well. As much as I like the geometric stamps I find them tricky to use especially if you don't take your time and start rushing off at all angles like I did, luckily I was able to wet the leather enough to soak out some of my mistakes. I like to think it worked out okay in the end despite not really going to plan. Jimnx

  12. Hi all, It about time i came out from lurking in the shadows and said hello, Ive been wandering over this forum since it started and this is my first post. I found this site to have a wealth of information and cover a wide range of topics. My leather crafting began where my fatherinlaw left off, he departed from this world and took his skills with him but not his tools. So i learnt from studying the items he made and began to design and craft my own items. We dont have a tandys store in the UK so much of my tools and books come from the USA. This is a great forum that has helped me avoid making some costly mistakes. All the best Jim-Nx
