  1. Hi there, Im having setting rivets properly, i've got the tool that sits on the the top but a lot of the time the top piece dosnt go down squarely and I end up with a rivet that falls apart. is there anything i can do to stop this? Thanks James

  7. Hi there, I'm just starting out and was wondering, what order do you finish off a piece? After you've cut out all of your pieces and marked everything out do you assemble all of it then dye it and finish it and then do the edging or dye it then assemble it and do the edging after that? Thanks

  11. Hi there, I've just draw out a rough patten for a medium size satchel/messanger bag. (18"-14" ish) the only problem i have is what to do next! The first one is what thickness of leather to go for and the second one is what tools would i need? As there isnt any time limit on the constuction so im planning to sew by hand. Almost forgot... how much overlaping do you allow for the stitching? Many thanks James

  13. Hi there, I've just cased the leather and marked out the design but... i used selotape and one piece must have touched the piece and i now have a black smuge. Is there any way of removing this? Thanks James
  14. Hi, Im just starting work on the belt that came with the beginers kit. Is there an easy way to get a good centre line for the basket weave? I've tried marking the out line on the tracing paper and folding it half, also which would you start first, the camoflage around the outside or the basket weave? Thanks James

  16. Yes, im using the leather weld that came with the kit. If you use tape how to you prevent damaging the piece or is it a double sided?
  17. Hi there, Just finished my first piece and im having trouble trying to remove the leather weld and cardboard from the back. I've only used a light covering but its still stuck on in places, i've tried using a sponge soaked in hot water to try and ease it off. does any one have any better ideas??? Thanks Jim
  18. Hi there, I've just made my first thing. how do you remove all of the glue and cardboard from the back of your work piece? I've tried dipping the sponge in hot water and moisening it but is there an easier way? Thanks James
  19. Hi there, I've been bitten by the leather bug and have just brought the tandy starter kit. i'll probably be back here soon asking lots of questions! P.S how to you hold a swivel knife, do you hold the blade flat against the work or just use one corner? Thanks Jim
