  1. Just go to a sewing shop or even walmart and get a package of sewing machine needles in different sized. They are color coordinated and have 80/11, 90/14 and 100/16. I've never used any but the 11 and 14s so far and I sew 7-8oz guitar straps with foam and lining on the backs. Remember, the 15-91 does everything backward from all the other singers. The needle goes facing the opposite way, the thread goes in from behind, not in front, and it threads on the side away from you, not next to you. Have fun with it!!! Cheryl

  2. Oh ok Chad I use a stylus to do that. And we all miss sometimes. If the line is close enough, when you bevel the carved part, that will cover it. If not you can take the spoon end of the stylus and dampen the leather and smooth it with that. However it will tend to 'burnish' (or make that area darker) the leather so you want to use a light hand with it. A picture would still help a lot for other ideas since we can see if it's a place you're going to be matting, etc. Cheryl

  3. Jake I'm trying to learn to sharpen my tools myself for that reason. I use an end punch and oblong punch for my guitar straps and it seems like the dull pretty quickly. I don't know if I'm not getting them sharp enough to begin with or if it's the amount of space that needs to be displace especially by the oblong one, but I do quite a bit of whacking, especially with my end punch. My Osborne oblong seems to hold it's edge better. But I think you've answered your own question, if you can do it with two whacks with one, the other one ain't sharp :) Cheryl

  4. WOW what you're doing is so far out of my skill set I am having to reread it for the third time, LOL. Yet I'm thinking may be a strap with a dog snap on it to maybe go straight down to belt, maybe something like simple suspenders that hook to a D ring at the top on both sides underneath her armpit and run the straps down that way. I would run them if you use two in a V shape, wide at the top to the shoulder, then past the busty problem and then clipped on a belt loop on each side, say the two loops each side of where a zipper would be on jeans. I hope this confused reply gives you some ideas. Cheryl

  5. Use resolene or mop n glo, either one cut by 50% water. Or that's what I use on all my things, painted, dyed, stained, antiqued..... If you are going to antique, put the finish on first, then after it's dry the antique. Since the antique is thick I make sure it's really dry and then put a second coat of finish. It's best to do these finishes in light coats and repeat....but they don't take a long time to dry.

I have no experience with wax so don't know which thing caused you stains to run. Maybe they weren't dry enough or maybe the wax, I really don't know. I don't use wax. Cheryl

  6. Raven do you mean both sides look like the grain side, that kinda smooth? Or do you mean something like deer or elk that's soft on both sides? Because I don't know other than those type of skins that are really soft on both sides and I don 't know of any kind of leather that's got a grain look on both sides. ACK I think my answer was more confusing than your question, LOL. Cheryl

  7. Thank you Chief. it runs through Feb. and I have some big plans for it like taking my stitching horse there when it gets here to do some hand sewing while folks are there, and next week I'm going to give away a free $5.00 gift certificate for my shop and draw at the end of the day. The other vendors like that idea and we're going to take turns I think. Or maybe just do a free one for all the vendors every week. And make the people be back there to win, just tons of ideas swimming through my head so probably won't get them all done by Feb LOL.

  8. like I just told Bill I know it's about more stuff. and your ideas are good but I can't afford to invest anything else in the booth. I just put that banner up so people would know my name. I have an antique stitching horse coming and going to take it there and work on things while I sit and that will help a lot to attract attention I know. Maybe this Saturday I'll scatter things around instead of just putting them all together. I'll see how that looks. thanks for the ideas Jonathan. Cheryl

  9. Nice job with the booth . Glad you are having fun . Each show teaches something . You need more stuff on the table . The sign says you are thinking ahead and planning ,good effort . Bill

es it's always about stuff isn't it bill? I do need more stuff but I don't know what else to make up a this point. might try some trees and snowmen like suggested before for the upcoming season. I must have 15 bracelets and maybe I'll take them lout of the basket and scatter all these things around instead of collecting like things together. It would definitely look like more stuff. I'll see what i can do for the third one. Thanks, cheryl
