I had been watching this stamp for some time but was afraid to buy since it was in the Czech Republic but then I figured what the hell its only 25 bucks I spend that much in beer on the weekend. So i bought it figuring it would be awhile if at all when I get it and if I did how good of a stamp it might be....... Well much to my surprize it showed up today 8 days after I purchased it. This guy is worth buying from again. to my understanding he makes them himself and it is a really geat quality stamp. It leaves great detail and sharp imprints. It is way better than any TANDY stamp I have bought. I know it was a foreign buy "I try to buy all or as much USA made as possible" but no body makes any like this that I have seen. Here is a link to his MY EBAY page http://myworld.ebay.com/007designer007?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Kehl Here is a quick couple of hits I did. The leather is still pretty wet but you get the idea

I had this happen to me just the other day on a piece of leather that I got in a machine deal. All the leather I had normally been using worked fine but I need to make a set of spurs straps so I decided to use the deal leather and after it dried it did the same thing I took some scrap that I had and then dyied it and it worked fine so my coclusion was the leather I hope Im right Kehl

Dipping Holsters?
lowlife replied to lowlife's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks I wasnt sure if the browns would work the same way or not. i hate buying dyes on line that i havent used befroe, I only use oil dyes and have a hard time determining what the actual colr will be in the different shades of brown. the color swatches that they show with them on the sites arent acurate. I understand that given the leather that they all will be somewhat different but getting the ball park color is tought to deyermine looking at them on the computer. thanks for the info -
given how black oil dye usaully takes a couple coats to get rid of all the light spots I have forund that its easier to just put my dye in a bucket and dip them. One time and Im done. I havent tried this with the "BROWN" dyes does it work just as well as it does with the black Thanks Kehl

I also build turkey calls and am a member of someof the turkey hunt and custom call forums. There is one feller that is a collector. He compiled a list several years ago of all the call makers that we on the forums and posted them on the forum. He is religious about up dating them once a year as there is always call makers coming and going. But most of the guys that have been around awhile stay on it. most of know each other for the most part and I have folks that call and order something that I aint really good at making or dont have the supplies for refer them to someone on the list that I know is trust worthy. It works out really well. I dont refer them to anybody that Im not sure of or I havent heard or used one of their calls. I get some buisness from it and give some also. Works really well but you have to know who you are dealing with and the quality of their product. Kehl

Ok first it needs to be known I AINT NO ARTIST. 2nd I havent been tooling leather very long at all. I think this is just the 3rd project I have done for someone other than myself as far as tooling. I had posted in the MC forum about a dash panel I did for myself once before and I stated in there that "I COULDNT DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE WITH A RULER AND A PENCIL" and that still holds true.. These back plates for a couple sets of FIREFIGHTER suspenders are one that I have done for a couple close friends. I tried everyway that you can imagine to get out of doing them due to my inability in the artistic side of this. I just finally gave in and gave it a try. the skull is from a random image and the flames are random also that I tried to incorporate into this design. I think they turned out pretty good considering my ability but they LOVE THEM. I think they dont have good taste LOL. Anyway let me know what you think and I PROMISE you wont hurt myfeelings Kehl http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=18672 http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=galleryℑ=18673

Does anyone make a better set than the cheap tandy ones? It kills me to have to stamp something then work on them to get a good crisp letter. Kehl

Stop by the counter top maker today to see what it would cost me for a scrap piece of granite. Much to my surprise he gave me this piece. Said they usually throw the away. It's 1 1/4 thick 40 in long and 20 in wide

Well I think after doing 2 days worth of research when it comes time in a few weeks I'm going to bite the bullet and do a 1 time purchase since I hate to buy a under built machine so I'm just going to do it right and not have to worry. And get a Cobra class 4. A bit more up front but will pay of down the road
