  1. I thought you were talking about the machines not the decals.
  2. Jimi said singer machines were not spray painted?? i do not recall saying this tony??
  3. there was a video showing how they made them but it seems to be down now??
  4. Hi Tony, here is some pictures of the decals you asked about.
  5. Hi Tony, i will try to send a pic of the decals on the 45k1 but there is not much left of them. the old machine was not treated very well and has lost a lot of the decals. also it is from 1895 if i can remember so they will probably not be the same period as your machine? what year was your machine made? now that you have the crinkle finish i think the one in the picture of the 45ksv100 would be closest to what you are looking for, just gold letters saying "Singer" and the small letters on the top saying "The Singer Manufacturing Co". jimi.
  6. Hello parfektionisto, very nice restoration, well done. i think the gold decal was used with the black crinkle finish. i do not think they ever sprayed the letters on. you would have to dab the air bubbles out when you put on the decal otherwise if there is any air behind it, when it dries it will come off in that area. the acanthus floral design was used up until i think 1920´s but i am not 100% sure.. here are a couple of links, one is of the different types of decals and the other the black crinkle finish. regards jimi. http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/decals/industrial-decals.html http://needlebar.org/cm/displayimage.php?pid=6337

Hi Brian, yes i have thought about it and will probably end up making one. i have contacted fortuna and they have given me an address for spain so i am waiting for a reply. another company here has also given me a reply on some parts but they are now on holiday. one was the left hand door but he still has not said if it is Fav or Fortuna or Gines Juan etc... did anyone ever find a user manual or parts list for one of these fortunas??
  11. Anybody know where to get the straight edge guides from??

    Fortuna 50S

Hi Brian, thanks for the pictures,i dont see me getting that vaccume on there as i am in a 4th floor and cant go too big here. as for now the tests i have done nothing is sticking to the roller so i will keep with this one until something goes wrong. i just touched it up with the blade and sanded it i little to even it out and seemed to have worked. although i did not take much off. today i have whipped the motor off and put it back on the pfaff so i will have to look for another motor for it. once i get it going again i will no doubt pick your brain . thanks again brian, regards jimi.

    Fortuna 50S

just got the feed arm soldered and drilled out again with some new pins in and changed the belt. if anyone is wondering how its changed you just press on the clutch and loosen the screw watching out that the pin with the spring dose not shoot out. made a new plastic window and changed the guide screw as the old one was stripped. rocky? i see on your videos that your left side door has no stone cleaner?? is it not practical to have it incorporated in the door??
  20. I am sure the old singer 45k would handle that thread and some models have reverse. (45k89,45k92,45k93)
  21. That was a bummer! i know exactly how you feel Folker? did you buy it from Australia.... that treadle looks great! and its not SILVER!!. now at least you have found the parts to get it going. some people do not realize that you cannot leave a machine loose in a box! anyway here is a very good solution that was sent to me last week. i had been looking for a skiver for a while and finally got one and this is how it was sent... an old fruit crate! so i would give 10 out of 10 to this guy, all arrived safe and well. so if anybody is going to send a skiver this might be a cheap and good solution. nice work again on that stand Folker, hope to see that old iron going soon.
