Wallet For A Navy Buddy
Murray replied to Murray's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
I also used it for the lettering on the other side of the wallet. It was the only thing I could find that was small enough and slim enough to make the impressions I wanted. Thanks again, Bear. -

Thanks bear. How I did the chain - I took a jewelers screwdriver, filed the tip down a bit (to fit the curves) then just kinda pressed in the impressions. It took a while and my hand was pretty sore afterwards, but I think it turned out awesome. Thanks again. -

Thanks David. Les, Thanks, shipmate. I have been retired for about 5 years and I got to feeling really nostalgic when my friend asked me to do this. Hooya. -

Love the two tone look on the belts, and that pouch is classy. -

Us Sailors love that anchor. On a small scale that chain gave me alll sorts of trouble though. Still pleased with the end product. -

WOW!! just...WOW. Those are fantastic. You really do need a website, I'm thinkin' those would sell....WELL. -
Hello all, A friend of mine, who's still in the Navy, asked if I could make a full function wallet small. After some trial and error, I finally came up with a design that I liked. He also asked to have a "USN" anchor and his rate/rank on it. I jumped on this one as I am a retired Sailor and have not yet done anything Navy related. This is what came off the work bench - enjoy. I hate big wallets, so I tried to make one that was a full function wallet - and make it as small as possible. I came up with a desing that I liked, a friend saw the end result and asked if I could make one with a Navy anchor and his rate/rank. This is what came off the bench. -
Mine does the same thing to me (not just for barns either). Most of the barns out here either have livestock in them or they are falling down. Oh well.

I guess I need to start lookin' for some barns to rummage through. Sweet find, and a GREAT friend.

Some toe protectors that I made for my trap league teammates. All of them shoot O/U's so I had to elongate the tab.- 4 comments

First attemp at a shot shell holder, making a "box", figure carving, and coloring/painting. -
Thanks Renegade, I'm a bit dense at times. Thanks for breaking it down for me. I've still got a long way to go in this craft. Murray

Again, thanks for all the input, I have spent a bit of time thinking on this topic. As far as the one size fits most, that is a jump off point for a pattern so that I can mold to other similarly sized weapons. I have no intentions of producing a sleeve and tellin' folks to drop their gun in it. In regards to the rigidity of the opening, I stitched two layers of 7/8 oz together at the opening to include covering the trigger guard. Attached is a photo with the weapon installed.

Thanks for all the input. I will post pics of the holster with the gun in it later (I'm out of town). Please know that safety is always a major consideration for me. I looked at the design and made sure that no accidental discharges were possible. The mouth stays open all on its own without a steel strap. Also, the stitching was done tight enough that even without molding the holster retains the weapon tightly. I understand the concerns and thank you for your input.

Pancake Type Leatherman/magazine Pouch
Murray replied to srtboise's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Looks good to me. So the string is a little bit heavy? The way I see it, if you can shoot an arrow with it, you can secure your leatherman with it. I like the style and shape. What color is that? Nice work. -
I was trying to make the smallest holster I could without compromising safety and retention. This is what I came up with. Works well as IWB, but OWB not so great (maybe a "range only" set up). It was based on my Sigma .40, but would most likely fit other 4 in. semi's pretty well. Your thoughts and comments are encouraged. Thanks.
