  1. From the album: Rendezvous Special

2" belt tapered to 1 1/2" at the buckle (finding a 2" brass clipped corner buckle on a budget proved to be harder than I thought). Also with bear motif, this is the only full bear carving in the set.

my interpretation of a "period" knife sheath. No metallic hardware, the only "modern" material used was the linen thread. Sheath design inspired by a sheath from the series "lost" ala John Locke, then added the paw prints
  3. From the album: Rendezvous Special

This is the whole set of gear. It includes a belt, throwing knife sheath, possibles pouch, medicine bag and a wristband/cuff. All items (except for the medicine bag) have a bear motif (his name is Quiet Bear). Enjoy.
  4. If you use a standard 8 oz flask and 3-4 oz leather, you dont really need a template. Its more or less a rectangle 8" X 4 5/8". Then all that is left is deciding how you want to lace it. Thanks Rouge, thats what I was going for. I used Tandy Gel antique "Tan" rubbed it on all sloppy like and kept working it then wiped off excess and did it again. Murray
  5. Thanks Vhakra, Once I got the template set up, it only took about 35-45 minutes per. (not including, drying/dyeing times).
  6. Thanks Harag, I had been wanting to give it a try and this situation just popped up. I love the way they turned out. I say, give it a go, its a fun little project.
  7. Take your time. I have been doing it the only way I know how... get a ruler and eyeball it. I think I will have to get a "Real" knife to make it look even better. Thanks Carson and Jay.
  8. From the album: My Obsession

I made these flasks for my daughter and her friends as a prom gift. We're having a good old fashioned southern BBQ dinner and they love them. But they have warned about putting booze in them.

Shot shell carrier for a local outdoor men's ministry. Being used as a prize for their upcoming sporting clays shoot.
  11. Hello all, Here is another shot shell holder. I made it for a local outdoor men's ministry group as a prize for their upcoming sporting clays shoot. Their logo is pretty intense. I dont know if Im saying this right but, the tooling is a combination of repouse and traditional carving (and a couple stamps too). Thanks for looking... enjoy Murray
  12. Stunning. Incredible piece. Bravo, Sir.
  13. Nice. I like it.
  14. Not to be overly simplistic, but..... it looks to me like you could just reverse the strap on the front knob. i.e. flip the strap at the attachment point.
  15. From the album: My Obsession

one of a kind tablet holder for my daughter. Artwork is from Japanese comic about hamsters called "Hamtaro". Fully hand stitched, molded, and painted. My very own design. I even added a kickstand and a couple card holder slots.

watch band that I made for myself.
  17. From the album: My Obsession

Had some time in between projects so I made myself a watch band.
  18. Thanks Vhakra. Like I said earlier, its the first "Navy" thing I've made since I retired (and since I started leatherwork).
  19. JME, I'm no pro (by any stretch of the imagination) but I do know that "buying a few holsters probably wont work. There are far too many models and brands of pistols/revolvers for most to take a chance on. On top of that, there are many methods of carry and types of holsters. So what you are asking for is a shot in the dark. Beyond that, after mark up you may be priced out of that market (unless you find a maker that can put them together fast and cheap). My 2 cents.
  20. That's Sweet, Mike. Beautiful work.
  21. Thanks Aguilera - ATC(RET) here. ... AND thank you Ray. Say, Ray, you still have them mallet dies? I was looking for dimensions on a couple of them. Lord Bless.
  22. Thanks Nappers, he (the guy I made it for) loves it.
