  1. Thank you very much.
  2. Thank you everyone. Lightingale, I used Fiebings Light Brown and USMC Black dye sprayed through an airbrush and I sprayed a very light coat of Fiebings Saddle Lac on the compass/gear area as a resist, but no resist on the eagle. I then used Tandy Eco-Flo Tan Gel Antique over the whole piece, with Super Sheen final coats.
  3. This is a composition notebook cover I made for myself to keep track of my fitness progress and workouts.
  4. Hey Tim. It's nice to see you and your awesome work up here. Welcome.
  5. Thank you. Nappers I'm not sure what you're talking about as far as this hawk cover you mentioned. That might be somebody else's work.
  6. I must have been tired that day. Yes I meant pancake style holster. Good call, thank you. As far as the design, I have looked at other holsters for inspiration, but yes this is a design I created specifically for this gun. After tracing the outline of the gun on paper, I know roughly how I want it to look and start sketching the rest of the design out.
  7. That looks well made and adorable. Nice work.
  8. Thank you all for the comments. For the last two comments, I used an airbrush around the edges. I believe I used black for the actual edge of the piece and a dark brown for the edge detail on the stag. I love that airbrush though and the control it gives.
  9. Twin oaks, it was definitely a 3" Colt 1911. If the end were open, it would look shorter and more proportionate, but was a perfect fit for the gun. It was my first time molding the leather for a semi auto and admit it could look a little better knowing what I know now. It is not horizontal but much closer to vertical and the customer didn't want a strap, especially with how good the retention felt to him for just being shaped leather. Bottom line is, this is what the customer ordered and was very happy with the end result. Thank you for your wisdom though.
  10. Thanks for the comments. The stitching is done by hand. I used an airbrush to spray Fiebings medium brown for the overall color and Fiebings chocolate brown for the edges. I really love the control I get with airbrush.
  11. Well done. That thing looks awesome.
  12. Thank you. I'm new to this site and forums altogether, but I have been working with leather for about ten years now.
  13. Looks great and inspirational. That looks like it was a lot of fun to make.
