I like the looks of a belt when it is lined with suede but, the problem I am running into is how to get the edge right. I edge my belt first then dye, then glue lining on with contact cement, 1 oz suede, sew belt then trim suede. Now how do you get that rounded look to match the belt edge. My edger is new an it won't cut an edge on the suede. How do I get it to match the belt edge or do I just leave it alone after trimming, ?
I cant seem to find a supply of colored thread. Can someone let me know where I can find the best selection of colored sewing machine thread & in a wide verity of weights ? I do a lot of sewing Suede and like to color match the thread ?
Thank you
I've never embossed but, I would use Gorilla duct tape, one way to stop stretching. I just made a belt and, lined it with pig skin, thought it was not going to work out good but, after wearing for two weeks, I love it
Say, I've been trying to make these wallets, at first I was rolling the edges to make them look nice but, I cant keep the edges lined up striate when sewing . So I went to this style thinking it would work better. I still need to improve on my sewing but, I was wondering if anyone has a good way to dye the edges on the suede without getting dye or marker all over the place.
All advise is more than welcome
Thank you

I wouldn't blame Tandy leather because, the leather that cracked on me was from Weaver. I believe it is the use of too much alcohol dehydrating the leather.
Dan
you will always get that. when ever you punch through anything the bottom will look like that, just take a roller and roll. I used to wonder the same as you.
I'm new an this happened to me the other day when I was experimenting with a piece of scrap, the leather cracked like, taking a potato chip and trying to bend it. I dehydrated the leather, so you need to condition with oil.
Say I was wondering if they make cell phone blanks ,out of plastic or what ever. So I can make cases for any style phone. If they do. Where can I buy them ?
Thank you

I don't know if this is the right place but, I would like to know if there is somewhere I can get a conversion chart to convert metric to oz..
Like 2 to 2 1/2 MM = How many oz.. ?
