  4. Ya, you might be right. Thought that maybe changing the title would improve SEO and generate interest among those who know about Mitsubishi machines.
  5. I purchased a sewing machine for a price I couldn't pass up. However, I know nothing about this machine. Any identification related to manufacturer and model have been removed. Here is what I know.... Its a walking foot machine It has the same body/head design as a mitsubishi yu-360/330 and dy models (assessment of online images) It has a gigantic wheel. It was manufactured until the late 1980s Its serial number is 988038 I can't find much info online. Does anyone know what model this machine is? Or know who makes a similar clone? It sews fine now, but Id like to keep the info in my pocket incase it ever needs parts. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a manual?' You guys are awesome! Thanks
  6. Im wondering if its even a Ferdco at this point. I found pics online of the mitsubishi YU line. Can find much info, but it looks like the same body. What do you guys think? Could it be a clone of the Mitsubishi an actual Mitsubishi?
  7. I finally got the sewing machine. I am told it's a Ferdco, but there isn't actually and identification on it. What do you guys think? Happy to take additional pictures if that would help identify what kind of a clone it is.
  8. @shoepatcher Thank man! Im going to pick it up next weekend. Ill let you know how it does. Thanks for the help and encouragement.
  9. @nylonRigging Ya, I think I am going to pick it up. Thanks for confirming that its a good deal. Ill be sure to look for the hinges. Im hoping that it will fit on my current table. But if not, Im open to getting a new one. Thanks for the info! Super helpful. Cant wait to try it out. @Wizcrafts Thanks for the info. Im going to give the Hoffman Brothers a call tomorrow. Im assuming that you've been in the industry for awhile?
  10. @nylonRigging My worry is that I won't be able to buy parts in the future. However, it does seem like a good deal. Would you say it has reverse? The buyer didn't know and Im not sure what to look for on the photos. Thanks for your opinion. Its really value to me.
  11. I am thinking about buying this old Ferdinand (serial# 988038 ). The seller can't seem to find the model number on the machine. I am told it is a clone of a Consew model, Im just not sure which one. Can anyone help me out? Does $150 Sound like a good price? Thanks for your help. Ive never owned a walking foot sewing machine and Im looking forward to finding one.
  12. I recently got a Singer 45k25 machine up and running. Ive got a standard presser foot on it now. Works great. However, Id like to try out a roller foot. Unfortunately, I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone have any leads on where to find one? Could I fit one that is meant to go on another sewing machine? Anyone selling?
  13. Jimi, The image that you just sent is the kind of binder I have. Looks like I will just need to get a new foot and cut it off to make it fit. Thanks for the photo I wasn't sure how to even attach it. Thanks for all the help! I need all I can I get.
  14. I just got one of these machines too. Was trying to figure out what kind of linen thread to use. I was planning on a 4 cord but now sure if I should be buying Left or Right twist. What do you guys think?
  15. Great! Thanks for the info. I will give it a try. Great tutorial!
  16. TinkerTailor thanks! I would love to see how its done. Thanks for your helpfulness.
  17. I am looking for some leather binding? Does anyone know where I might be able to pick some up? This is my first binding experience with leather, so I don't know what I am doing yet. Is leather binding something that you can buy? or is it something that is generally made? What about binding attachments (I have a Singer 45K25)?
  18. I bought a Singer 45K25 awhile ago and I am just getting around to figuring out how to work it. I am pretty new to leather sewing machines, but I think I am about to get started on a project. I was contemplating trying my hand at sewing with linen cord. I just got a lube pot and now I need to find some tread and needles. I have a few questions.... What linen thread should I buy? Left or Right twist? Where to buy? What kind of lube should I buy? Advantages/Disadvantages What size of needle should I buy?
  19. dirtclod- I actually did give Bob a call and he said that they have a roller foot for one of their cowboy machines that would fit. I looked at it and it looks pretty different than the ones on ebay. However, they are much cheaper. If I cant find anything else, I may just buy one and see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion.
  20. I own a Singer 45k25. I have been looking for a roller foot and an accessory plate/guide for years. Recently I found a couple on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321636814854?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/221448164280?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT As you can see they are expensive! Is that a good price? I sent the vender an email and they said that are getting the parts from India. Does anyone know where I might be able to find 45K25 parts either domestically or internationally, either new or used? Id be interested to find the supplier in India. Any leads?
  21. Thanks for the advice everyone. I really appreciate it. I am going to be calling Bob today to see what he has for me. I found a few image of old singer 45ks on the internet. Some of them are a slightly different setup than the 45k25 that I have, but it appears that the cylinder arms is the same. There is a small bracket that is attached just behind the needle plate. I am guessing that it is for attachments like binders, folders, etc. Might be what I need? What do you guys think? Does anyone know what the part is called? Does anyone know where I might be able to find one of these brackets? Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell? http://www.industrialsewmachine.com/webdoc1/used/used-singers/45k.htm
  22. I recently bought a Singer 45k25. After reading this forum I went out and bought a few KHF2 binding attachments from Kwokhing. I am not sure how to attach them to my machine. It looks like the holes that are on my machine are not in the right place (see attached photos). I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to make this work? I was thinking that maybe a drop down guide that the binders could mount to might be an answer? Does anyone have experience mounting a drop down guide to a 45k25? Im not even sure it has all the right holes (see attached photo). Im pretty handy and I could drill and tap the holes myself, if needed. I am just trying to figure out which drop down guide to buy (from Kwokhing or anyone else). Thanks
  23. I have recently bought a singer 45k25 machine. This is my first heavy duty sewing machine and I am trying to find presser feet that will fit it. Does anyone know where to get feet that will fit this machine? I would also like to get a binder attachment for the machine that will work with med weight leather, but I have no idea where to get that. Can anyone help?
