I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I haven't been on here in a blue moon or two. I'm looking for a pulling style breast collar pattern with a dee ring center. It'll be send to a friend who has no experience in horse tack, but is great with all things leather. If I had my own tools and leather with me, I'd make one myself, but the downstairs neighbors don't appreciate the noise generated. Thanks everyone!

I'm looking for 3/4 inch wide strips of veg-tan leather at 8/9 oz thick for dog leads. Basically, I need them the length of a side. I would definitely be interested in buying a side of my own, but my client may not be able to buy as many as I would need her to buy in order to make buying a side worth it. I've worked at a Tandy, and they don't have anything longer than 72 inches, and that just won't work. Are there any other suppliers that you folks know of that would sell me side-length strips that aren't crazy expensive? I don't care if they aren't trimmed down to a standard length or not. I figured I need the strip to be about 80+ inches. I would also love it if this were a constant supplier with constant pricing.

I don't even know what it's called. If I knew that, it'd be more than helpful. Anyway, I want to recreate this dog leash for a friend. She wants this twist thing to make the handle of the lead, and to attach the clip. I kinda loosened it to look at how it works, but it's confounding my mind. There's no hardware anywhere on the lead, aside from the clip. No rivets or anything, no stitching...just this twist thing magically holding everything together. I have the feeling that it's super easy once you have the hang of it...

I'm sure this has been posted before, but where might be the best place to get tacks for making saddles? Can I get these things at Home Depot, or do I need to buy them online? I've been looking at shoe tacks, but the shipping is ridiculous in most cases, and I don't want to get the wrong thing. I don't have extra money to waste.

A name plate for a horse's stall done for a friend of mine. I drew the original design in my sketchbook, and will be painting it this week. Still working on carving letters...not my favorite thing.

Is it possible to use gold leaf on leather and have it be durable? I've been using metallic gold acrylic paint so far...but that just lacks luster. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

I am wanting to make a replica of a little pouch from the game Skyrim. I have the pieces cut and ready for a prototype, but I wanted some feedback on one of the seams. Here's a screenshot of the little bag: Now, it looks like it was sewn inside out, and then flipped so that the seams are on the inside, like you would do for a messenger bag, but there is lacing along the top flap, (I've concluded that there is a pocket on the inside of the top flap). My question is how might that work? A hidden seam plus outside lacing? I know that the folks who create these things don't necessarily care about how it would be made in real life, so it is entirely possible that this is impossible or unnecessary. I'm curious if anyone has any ideas as to how to do this, or if this is a technique that I don't know about. Also, if anyone has any ideas about pattern layout, let me know. I did prototype one, but I haven't assembled it yet. I'm hoping to get a identical, or near identical, usable replica. Thanks!
