  1. From the album: my leatherwork

Ok so this is the 3rd pair of cuffs I made. These are for my Dad. And if you're wondering- yes he wears them every day while working horses & working at the barn
  2. The smell of leather, a strong cup of black coffee, a cabinet full of tools, & a mind full of ideas... what a morning!

  3. Welcome, Shaun to a great community
  4. Hi Jenny from Kansas, USA. Welcome aboard. I myself am pretty new on here & love it. So much information to be shared! I'm sure you'll find answers to any/all questions you may have. Also don't be shy to add your "2 cents". Looking forward to seeing your work Andy
  5. Thank you. I agree about the string catching though I've had little trouble with this- maybe because of spool placement? I do like the idea of support for a larger item as you mentioned. I just figured I would use my workbench if needed extra support lol. If I would've waited a few weeks my neighbors threw out a couple of still nice dining chairs, which may well have changed my whole design... But I do love my horse- it works great & made it myself so I'm quite happy! Wonder how'd I stitch without it?! Am looking forward to seeing yours as well. Thanks for the compliment & thanks for looking
  6. Ol' Waylon (Jennings) would be proud to own this one too!... Beautiful work!
  7. Love this design! Simple yet 100% effective. Wish I'd saw this before I made mine.
  8. I have stitched everything without a stitchin horse up until recently. Now that I have one (made it myself) I don't know why I didn't do that 1st! So convenient...and no more charlie horse in my leg! P.S. I do punch holes ahead of time but with the horse it doesnt matter

Just an update to any who may read this; I have recently purchased this stamp (Craftool S9). Thank you Ray for looking.
  10. Hi Randy. I see you're in LaCygne. I'm through there quite often. Maybe I could catch up with ya
  11. If these saddles could talk, right?... I would be a captive audience for sure!
  12. From the album: my old saddles

This saddle was a great find. I bought it out of a gentleman's garage for $40. Took it home & tore it down to the tree. Cleaned & oiled it, restrung it & put JW conchos on it. The stirrup fenders are patched & it has a couple torn places on the rear jockeys but this is one of if not the most comfortable saddles I've ever ridden in- an all day saddle for sure! It has 10" pommel, a 3"x3" gullet, 5" cantle with 1" lip, 14 1/2" seat, 3" high horn. The tooling was made using geometric stamp. No name or # on this saddle either
  13. I'm glad you enjoyed it. A wonderful old saddle- well made & alot of life left. I will post another of mine soon, be sure to check it out as well.
  14. From the album: my old saddles

Undercut swells, 5 1/2" cantle, 15" seat. Of course stirrups aren't original to saddle but was purchased for using. A great sitting old saddle with a decent gullet (not too narrow). Haven't found a maker or number on it but haven't taken it down to the tree yet either, as it was purchased in great using condition
  15. Nice work! Glad to see you get some pics on here!
  16. Very nice job! Mine is of plywood scraps given to me by my cabinet-maker friend- it cost about the same but nowhere near as ingenious as yours! A beautiful piece of work.
