  1. HI guys .. just wanted your opinion as which of the two would be a better choice. Also if I am going to make small leather goods and hand bags..what sizes are the ones I need to buy? Issue is that both have various different types of bevelers, however, two main types stand out in each brand. Rons tools--- Montana Edgers and Roung Edge Edgers Barry King--- Common Edger and Grooved Edgers I am assuming French edgers are perhaps not best suited for my needs??!! So my questions is which of the two brands would any one prefer or if either one of the two is noticeably better than the other. And secondly which type/variant within each brand do I need to pick?? Sizes?? Sorry its a complicated question but they are both expensive tools so I need to be really sure .. Thanks guys LINKS: http://www.ronstools.com/edgers.pdf http://www.barrykingtools.com/edgers.htm
  2. Thanks for that mate..what about the sharpness etc? Do they stay that way mostly?
  3. Hi guys, I wanted to check what you think of the quality of these punches? I am interested in buying then but are they worth their price. Do they work flawlessly and are sharp? Yes or no if I need to by them? If not any alternative? I want time stay clear of Joseph Dixon add I hear their quality is deteriorating. Thanks very much
  4. Try leathercraft.jp then use google translate to view the website. You will see them under "European punches" or something to that effect in the "Tools" category. DO NOT USE the English Website version you would not get half the things available on the Japanese version. Hope it helps
  5. Hello Zoomer.. thanks very much for that..and thats a nice case and an even better pen!! I hope I can get to a stage where at least its worth making a video of my works!!
  6. Hi guys , I find it hard to believe that there are not many tutorial based videos out there on youtube on small leather goods. I am have recently gotten into this hobby as some of you may know, and I am only interested in making premium quality high end stuff. I was of the opinion that it would be really easy to follow video tutorials out there to learn the art or make a project start to finish watching an extensive video. To my surprise (bar a few, Ian Atkinson or Nigel Armitage) there is nothing out there! For me its even hard to search for inspirational videos where one can observe a master craftsman working and check out his tools and techniques etc.. Yesterday I saw Peter Nitz video which was really cool.. showing him using his tools and the Fileteuse, pricking irons etc... I was wondering if anyone could share some links to some nice videos please.. Thx
  7. Thanks guys...tanda only the priching irons and diamond awl is..rest are all Japanese tools I was snoopy dancing last night! Lol

  12. HI guys if you notice there is no brass knob on this Vergez Blanchard dividers. I was told by a reseller of VB that there is a slight change to the design. Somehow I doubt that and feel that the replaced silver knob doesnt fit here and that it might be just a one off piece with make shift nut. It takes away the entire beauty of the tool. Can someone please confirm that this information is true? and that the product below is how it should be?
  13. Thank you very much Ray .. Cheers Mate, Param

  17. Good evening folks, I was wondering what this style of stamping is called and how could I get a stamp like this made and then print a shiny sliver stamp on my leather?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hheikAwdad0 Please forward to 1:45 sec and you would know what I mean. thx.

  19. No no I took what you said seriously..but the way your said it was funny. It's my very first time and that's why I got the safest metal ruler I could find. I also took one leather class last week and that's exactly what the guy told me...to be very careful. Good idea I'll get the Al cheapo needles to start of with. Still can't find any cheap pricking iron.
