Checkbook Cover
LoneWolf1973 posted a topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Yes I know this was a kit...it's an old one I found...lol. My reason posting it is the tooling...I use a technique that I'm sure I didn't develop but I like it...after I get done tooling I take a modeling spoon and go around the outside...it seems to make the design pop out. Let me know what you think. -
Basic Wallet
LoneWolf1973 replied to LoneWolf1973's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
It probably is not needed but I am paranoid so I put that there to help hold the money in. -
Trying my hand at making a few basic tools. The one on the left I made to do hair and it works pretty good. The one on the right is a stop and it works but not great.

This is called a Voyager Jewelry Box from a pattern I downloaded from Tandy. I would upload more pictures but for some reason the files came out to big. As you can see I had a heck of a time with the lacing for some reason. It is supposed to have a bar clasp but I didn't have one so I added a snap which don't work good. I am always up for a challenge and this was a challenge.

This wallet I designed off a picture I found on Pintrest. Has an area to keep a few cards and the large area is supposed to be able to hold cash. It is a very simple design as not to take up much room.

This is a simple design with a coin pouch and ID holder.

I made this from a pattern. I am waiting on some chains I ordered then I will replace the one on here...this one is there just for looks.

Another Roper Wallet
LoneWolf1973 replied to LoneWolf1973's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
On the stitching I need to slow down...I get in a hurry...on being lined up...again hurry...lol. Yes the coin holder is stitched...it wasn't in the pattern...I added it. I've never tried braiding but may give it a shot. On the dye I usually use a sponge or a rag...this time I used a dauber (spelled wrong) because someone suggested it but I don't like it. I post it here to show it and get the criticism at the same time. I'm getting back into it after 20 yrs of being out and need the "tough love". Lol -

Biker Wallet
LoneWolf1973 replied to LoneWolf1973's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Had a frontal of it closed but the file is to big to put here. -
Here is a biker wallet I just completed. The chain will be replaced when I get them in, this was an old one I had laying around and I threw it on for looks.

Roper Wallet
LoneWolf1973 replied to LoneWolf1973's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Here's the finished product. -
My first attempt at a roper wallet from scratch. I realized after I laced it that the outside was way to heavy. That was something I should have realized before I started but I was distracted while I was doing this by a 3 yr old. Oh well...live and learn...I feel my tooling was goose though. I'm doing this in 2 posts in this thread because of size. First two was during assembly.

New Pants For My Mora
LoneWolf1973 replied to Fonzarellis's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I decided at trying my hand at a sheath like that. I basically did the same design because I like the looks of the setup. Now, this was a first attempt and it don't look as good as yours but it will work for now. -
I went on and joined even though I had to register. From what I see this is a good project for people to learn the craft or, like me, have a bad memory and need a refresher on something.

Im New To Leatherworking And Need Help With Tools
LoneWolf1973 replied to JubWub's topic in Resources
I've been dealing with mainly Tandy and Springfield Leather...but if I could I would deal with Springfield only. I'm originally from there and most people there are still willing to help. -
I tried to use rounders the same color but two of them were darker

I currently have no books on holsters. I was waiting till I find out the particular 1911 and what style he wants before I start investing in the patterns.
-
Thank you....I'll check them out

Like I said my wife is supportive of my 'addiction' :-) but she hates it when I go to Tandy for 1 item because I always walk out with allot more...lol.

I know have 2720 but still looking for the other two. Didn't realize there was a size difference in 2710/2720 compared to 3267 so now I want all three...lol. Bear...I'm not sure what to offer on price...
