How You Can Help Leatherworker.net
texasfireleather replied to Johanna's topic in Announcements and Administrivia
Posted 23 hours ago I am no longer in the leather business and I would like to remove my account from the forum and website. I am still receiving emails from the site even when I have chosen not to receive them. I have tried to contact the website multiple times, probably at least 20 times with no response. I would like to completely remove this account from the forum and website. Thanks. -

Thank you Weaver for the information. I'm only in need of a handful of these items as I'm only making this one thing currently, but would like to keep a few of each item in stock just in case the need for the black hardware arises again. I will be looking forward to seeing the new stuff in the April catalog.

I have searched Buckle Guy and Ohio Travel Bag, along with several other places. I haven't actually talked to OTB but I will give them a call. I was able to find some buckles today, but still haven't been able to find the trigger snaps. Thanks everyone for their help and input.

I used to have a firefighter leather company that I sold about a year ago. I was interested then in buying black hardware as an option for customers, but couldn't find any. I still do it as a hobby from time to time and occasionally make some items for guys I work with. Recently, I had a request from a guy I work with to make him a radio strap with all black hardware. I can find black rivets, line 24 snaps, clip and dee's, but nothing else. I have searched for hours for the items but I'm not having any luck anywhere. I am needing: Black 1-1/4" or 1-1/2“ roller buckles (preferably center bar roller buckles) Black 1" Trigger Snaps (heavy duty, lobster craw style) Thanks for your time and information.

I'm looking to add another hand press to my shop. I need one that is a Tandy or compatible with Tandy dies. A foot press is also a possible option too. If anyone is looking to sell one, please let me know. Thanks.

Here's My Shop, Let's See Your Shop!
texasfireleather replied to texasfireleather's topic in Member Gallery
Well, once again, my shop has been rearranged. After the crazy Christmas rush, I had to do something to add more moving space and table space. I had to make the shop more function-able. I still need to build one more table, but the shop is a lot more spacious than it was. I have my main workbench with a table to the left that has my anvil, stamping/tooling area, and my press. I have a cutting/prepping table, a dying table, and a center press table for my hand presses. I will be adding one more additional table for finished orders/shipping table/ect. There is a big difference in the shop from my first post about the shop to this post.- 29 replies

My shop is a 12x20, but it's too small for me. I need a bigger shop. Yes, it is clean in the picture but it looks like it was robbed and ransacked after all of the Christmas orders. During the Christmas break, I am re-designing/remodeling to add more table space.- 29 replies

Needing A Faster, Better Way To Paint Leather!
texasfireleather replied to texasfireleather's topic in How Do I Do That?
I know the basics behind paiting, I've been doing it for years with a brush, so on and so forth. I see there is a huge response for an airbrush, which I know nothing about. I attached a photo to maybe help better understand what I do and if airbrushing is still an option. Thanks everyone for their response, I really appreciate all of your input. -
I currently use Angelus Acrylic paints on my products. Mainly, I paint stamped letters/emblems, on occasion, maybe a few other things. When I paint, I thin the paint with water and apply the coats, usually several coats, depending on the color. And when I mean several coats, I mean 5-10 coats. My problem is that my workload is through the roof and I need to find a way to reduce the amount of time that I spend on paint. I spend way too much time painting and it is putting me behind even more. What suggestions do you all have? What techniques do you all have to reduce the time spent on painting? Do you all know of another way, such as paint pens, ect? Thanks ahead for your input!!

Thank you! I'm the same way as you, I really enjoy checking out other peoples workshops. When I originally had this shop delivered, I didn't think my side gig company would outgrow the shop.....and it did. I really need more space, table space especially. I have some new toys on the way that I just ordered and I have NO IDEA where I'm going to put them!- 29 replies

Needed! Heritage Bluegrass Ez Edger! New/used
texasfireleather replied to texasfireleather's topic in Leather Tools
The one I purchased is the single side. I would love to have the one that does all 4 corners but spending more than double than what I spent on this one, just kinda made me sick to my stomach. I can't wait to get it, there is no doubt that it will be a huge time save and a hand saver, even if I have to flip it over and run it back through.- 12 replies

Needed! Heritage Bluegrass Ez Edger! New/used
texasfireleather replied to texasfireleather's topic in Leather Tools
simontuntelder: I ended up getting in contact with the person selling on eBay and bought it...... Way less than retail at the few other places I was able to find it at. They said they had 1 in Stock and that it was going to ship today. Once I receive it and put it to work, I'll post feedback on the product itself. I've heard nothing but good about them so hopefully that won't change.- 12 replies
