I had the same kind of problem I ordered a black piece of pigskin I always order online but from the same Tandy store . The piece I received looked like cheese cloth when I unrolled it called the tandy store they told me to ship it back to them they paid me for the postage and sent me another very nice piece so all I can say I was very happy with there service. I would definitely send that piece you got back.

very nice job,i also make portfolios and hand stitch them but finally got a sewing machine hopefully it will help with the stitching.

I had just made a portfolio and did the edges with the tandy edge kote,am I suppose to put anything on top of the edge kote as far as finish goes or is the edge kote enough.Thanks

Hi everyone you guys and gal do some real nice work here.I just started out I've hade the itch to do something for a while,my son bought me a pail full of supplies from tandy and now this is all I think about. thanks all glad to be here and learn.

Hi I don't know how stiff you want the bag to be but I just did one with 4-5oz. leatherand its pretty stiff, gonna take a while to break in nicely. I would post a pic but I'm new and haven't figured out how to post pic yet' hope this helps you some.
