  1. Thanks for the compliments! Will post more work when I get something done.
  2. Your friend probably has a strap now. Take it and on a large sheet of paper draw out your own pattern. Ask him what he liks or dislikes, do dimensions need changed? Your first one may now be the best final design, but that makes a good start. I just finished a couple of camea straps and the next ones will be changed as some of the dimensions are not quite right. Now I have a reason to buy more leather!! I always make the first of anything out of a lower grade leather so if it gets filed in the trash it dosen't hurt the wallet as bad. Hopes this helps you get started. You can also make a paper mock up to check dimensions.
  3. Looks great! I like the way you incorporated celtic with the sheriden. The 4-H kids I lead are all young and tend to shy away from sheriden. Except for the ones who live the western lifestyle. I am always trying to show them that leatherwork does not have to be "cowboy" based. How did the neatlac work with the eco-flow? I have been shy to try that combo myself. How did you like the ned thread to work with? I like the Idea of colors outside of black, brown and white. Keep up the great designs.
  4. Well here is the first post of some of my work. I've been lurking here for some time now and got brave enough to post. The purse is for my youngest daughter. This was all her idea. Started out basicly as a copy of Tandys marketplace bag, then things changed from there! The note book is a piece I did for my wife a couple of years ago. This was my first attempt at hand sewing. All comments are welcome!
  5. Do sign up if you can! I did this class about 1 year ago in Tempe,Az. and it is worth every penny . Peter teaches in a way that makes everyone feel very comfortable.
  6. attended last year, plan on going again this year. Would like to attend classes, will see if time off work is avail. Never been to Sheriden but have enjoyed the shows in Az.
  7. Just found this board, so far I think it's great. Doing leatherwork since about "72 as a 4-H'er. Now leading 4-H ers. My daughter has renewed my intrest in leatherwork when she wanted to learn. Her tooling skills have surpassed mine but thats OK! Trying to get her into constructing things from scratch.
