  1. I love the look of the case. Good job... Very fancy with the cad program just wish I could learn it. I like the idea of the floor under-lament. That is a great idea, and would save me a lot of leather..lol Again nice idea , yet another, With the sewing awl. I am going to try it . Thanks for sharing
  2. Thank yall for the encouragement... Just finished sewing the cell phone pouch......sad face.... It will work for what I need but it did not turn out like I was hoping. I saw something else I need ----edge paint or sealer or whatever it is called.. I also need to get into the shop to make a stitching pony and some edge burnishers... at least I KNOW how to work with wood, lol. I do not think I am going to post the pic of the cell phone pouch, I think it looks that bad, thanks again for all yalls help
  3. Hey yall I am just starting leather working. I have a couple projects going. Still learning how to use my tools. Started a cell phone holder with a tribal design and a long wallet with my version of dragon scales. They are ok but I am happy doing them
  4. Thank yall for the advice and concern. When I work with fine partials I DO take precaution. I have a 5 micron air filtration system that moves that air in my shop and filters it. I also use my work full face mask, I am about to buy a personal one but till then I use the one from work. A lot of the exotic woods that I turn on the lathe can cause lung problems ie:bamboo can splinter and act like asbestos. The mask I use is for dangerous liquids and fumes ie:benzene and the like. I am going to try the aluminum first as it is easy to work with and if I like the pattern/ tool I will attempt it in a bolt as yall suggest. Again thank you for all yall's info and knowledge
  5. Ok . Thats what I was kinda thinking. I am still gonna try my hand at some stamps. Got some aluminum and stainless rods. Gonna see what I can do. Thanks so very much. I am amazed at the amount of knowledge yall have and are willing to share.
  6. it is adjustable. I have tryed different heights and still the same. My whole hand cramps into my wrist, I think it is from having my finger so far above the rest of my hand amd the barrel being too small. I wrapped nonslip tape around the barrel and that did not work either.. I am currently searching the www for a solution.
  7. Hi yall I know this might be a dumb question but I am gonna ask anyhoo. Is there a alternitive for a swivel knife?? My problem is my hands are so beat up from work I have a hard time using my knife. My hands will cramp and seize up and I will not be able to move them for a bit. I kinda look, feel, like a crab claw. Is there a pen type ? Something that I can add size to like I am doing with my punches. A soft covering ??? Any help would be great. I keep trying to use it and keep cramping up and when that happens i mess up my cuts..... It is getting frustrating. This is the main reason I put my leather working stuff in a box years ago and set it in the attic. Now maby there is something new that I do not know about..... Thanks in advance
  8. Ok. Thanks for all the advice. But as long as I have yall's attention part 2 of the question. I know aluminum is easy to work with and make things. If I go with aluminum is there or would be there andy residual from the aluminum that would transfer to my leather?? Like staining or something??? Thanks

  12. Good idea... i like it... The only thing I have to say, and it is not negative, is you should have a rare earth magnet and a small peice os metal. IMHO... but all in all it looks good and nice stiching
