  1. I have a book named "Packing Iron Gunleather Of The Frontier West". I'm sure many of you have seen it. Anyway on page 6 there is a picture of a old gun rig with a real neat belt buckle. I found a guy that has hand carved and now has cast a reproduction of this buckle. http://www.willghormley-maker.com/OWCBuckles.html I ordered 2 of them, white bronze and brass. They are fabulous. The picture on his web site does them no justis. If you are into cowboy action shooting, or just make holsters you can't live without one of these. Regards Buff
  2. Very nice work! Regards Buff
  3. Really nice work. Buff
  4. I think it's the best. I like Herman Oak too. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I won't use Tandy leather. Just my opinion. Regards Buff
  5. Just about every gun I have made a holster for is a little different (barrel length, sight's, brand) so I just make up a new pattern with paper for every one. Regards Buff
  6. Thanks for all the compliments. It is just Wicket & Craig leather lined. All the color is from a few coats of Neatsfoot oil. Yes I have looked threw that book a few hundred times. Regards Buff
  7. Pattern? What's a pattern? Make them up as you go. Regards Buff
  8. I'm just finishing up this holster I made for my brother inlaw. I never make anything for anyone but myself, but he has been bothering me for about 2 years. I thought I'd get it over with. Regards Buff
  9. Thanks for the pic's. The lighter weight for the trail is my reason for wanting one also. Regards Buff
  10. Thanks. Any close up pictures would sure be welcome. Regards Buff
  11. I'm thinking about building me a half seat saddle. I've never rode on one what are your ideas about them? Are they as comfortable? What are some tricks or special things to do when building one? Thanks in advance: Buff
  12. Looks real good to me. I've only made a couple myself, so I know what a good feeling of accomplishment it is. Congrats on a fine job. Regards Buff

  15. I concur. I'll stick with rawhide. Regards Buff
  16. I often times think----that they must have left the bones in the leather. Buff

  18. Her is a headstall I've been making. Buff
  19. One more set of chinks I've made. Buff
  20. That is a breechin. It helps hold the saddle in place in real steep country. I mostly use it to just hold the cincha back out of their arm pits when going down hill, when I'm leading a pack string and don't like things getting western. (they use them on mules with strait backs a lot more than on horse's) Regards Buff
  21. That second one is just what I'm looking for thanks. Regards Buff
  22. I'm still trying to think of things to do with the back half hides of these African animals I shot. I kind of wanted the real thing not dye job prints. Regards Buff
  23. BEAUTIFUL work. That is just amazing to me. Regards Buff
