Modified foot lifter pedal for my 4500
dfrensdorff replied to dikman's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I’m in the same boat with my Techsew 5100. I don’t mind the right side foot pedal, but I’d love an extension for the lift handle, (because my edge guide interferes with it). Any info on the parts needed? -
TechSew 2750 PRO vs. Cobra class 26
dfrensdorff replied to TaylorM's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I have the Techsew 5100, with the position sensor and the laser .... I love the position sensor ..... rarely use the laser. -
I have the Juki 1508NH .... it is a fantastic machine. The last flatbed I’ll ever own. A bit more $ than the 1541S, and maybe a bit heavier, but the 1541S is also a great Machine. I’m not familiar with the Thor, but I’d buy the Juki if it were me.

Palosanto vs. Barry King Edge Bevelers etc.
dfrensdorff replied to dfrensdorff's topic in Leather Tools
Thanks for the feedback .... I’ve heard their tools are very nice, but are they that much better than Barry King? They indeed do look beautiful! -
Hello All ... if this has been asked before I apologize, but I did a search and didn’t find anything .... looking to get a full on new set of bevelers and French slivers. Palosanto vs. Barry King? Apples to apples the difference is approximately $150 or so more for Palosanto.... worth it? Thanks

No ... not these as they’re needed to make this a complete set-up. Let me look tomorrow in all the extra stuff I have and see if there is something. -
Howard J 100 Hot Foil Imprinting Stamp Machine

Price drop to $250 plus shipping. -
I have one more to sell from a group of 4...... Up for grabs here is a Howard J-100-A Hot Imprinting Machine. New cord and a soft cleaning. Heats up just fine, and makes a great impression into leather .... they are used for foil as well, and I was able to get a decent gold foil impression. (This takes some practice because of the amount of heat needed for different leathers and foils). Also included is a single line type holder, a holder that you attach your logo stamp or makers stamp to (can be done with a heat sensitive two-sided tape), a set of Kingsley 14 pt. type (5/16”) so you can play around with initials etc., and a small amount of foil. This machine also has the foil advancing set-up integrated into the machine. I’m asking $300, plus shipping in the USA. If interested, please ask questions, as this is sold as is.

This machine is sold .... I may have one more to sell after I get it cleaned up, new cord etc. I’ll post when the time comes.

I was looking for one myself .... Howard, Kingsley or Kwikprint, since I wanted an older American made machine. I ended up with 4 Howards. Up for grabs here is a Howard J-100-A Hot Imprinting Machine. New cord and a soft cleaning. Heats up and adjusts perfectly, and makes a great impression into leather .... they are used for foil as well ... I was able to get a decent gold foil impression. (This takes some practice because of the amount of heat needed for different leathers and foils). Also included is a single line type holder, a holder that you attach your logo stamp or makers stamp to (can be done with a heat sensitive two-sided tape), and a set of Kingsley 18pt type so you can play around with initials etc. This machine also has the added foil advancing set-up. I’m asking $250, plus shipping in the USA. If interested, please ask questions, as this is sold as is.

Great idea .... personally, I’m going to keep the Kwikprint, and one Howard .... going to sell the other three Howard’s. I’m replacing the electrical cords and doing a soft cleaning and then I’ll list them ..... way too much stuff for me to have laying around ....

A little while back, I started a search for an older hot stamping machine, wanting to hot stamp initials etc. ... EBay, Craigslist etc .... looking primarily for a Kingsley, (based on advice from a member here), but I was also looking for a Howard, as well as a Kwikprint ... (but not as aggressively because they appeared to be a bit more expensive). No real luck, until I searched on my local CL last week. Came across a guy selling a Howard that his father had, and some other machines. Talked to him, and went to take a look today .... came home with this! He just wanted to get rid of all of it at once. 4 Howards, J-100-A Machines, and a Kwikprint model 55. As well, a bunch of Kingsley type, a bit of other type, line holders, and a slew of extra parts, not in the photo, and items that will take me a while to figure it all out. They all work and heat up .... going to spend some time cleaning, changing out electrical cords etc. At some point in time, I believe I’ll be selling some of this, as I don’t need it all. Crazy how this happens ...

Thank you all ..... I’m on the hunt for one. They’re available on eBay, but I’m hoping to find one from more of a private party where I can actually talk to them about it.
