  1. Not embossed. Not left handed. Barry King stamp and just went with this angle and this orientation.
  2. Hello All .... Just finished up a belt for a friend who needed a new belt to go with his Vogt buckle set......Veg tan from Hide House......Basketweave....Black to dark brown fade Fiebings....Lined with Horween chromexcel equine.......Blue 92 bonded poly sewn on my Ferdco 206HL ..... Thanks for looking and feel free to critique.........Don
  3. Maybe it is for a left hander ......... unless the photo is reversed..........
  4. Hello All .... I have acquired some different edgers and therefore have these 3 up for grabs as they are no longer used. Older, vintage, Craftool. (1) each # 2, 3, and 5. Good quality. These sell on ebay for approx. $20 ea. ..... all 3 for $40 shipped in the USA. Message if interested.......Paypal is best. .... Don
  5. Just my two cents.......don't get rid of anything that was your grandpa's! You will very likely regret it someday. What you will receive in trade will not compare in quality or family value to what you have. Getting started in leather with basic tools is relatively inexpensive......
  6. I like that .... I am a big fan of quality basketweave... Nice work!
  7. First of all.....nice handbag. This post and conversation is very interesting to me. Along with my leather items, I also make oiled and waxed canvas tool rolls that I convey to my customers that they are "Ranch made in the USA". Which they are .... and I don't know the exact origin of the canvas...could be USA, could be somewhere else..... I would not in any capacity say "Ranch made in the USA (out of canvas from Vietnam) .... my $.02 cents
  8. I ordered one of his template sets .... Very high quality and very reasonable price!
  9. Just got a new side of Wickett and Craig English Bridle.........Had an order for a couple of belts.......one with a solid brass buckle, and one with a nickel plated buckle. 1.5" wide, lined with Horween chromexcel equine....Sewn on my Cowboy 3200......I really do like working with this WC English bridle .... thanks for looking, and feel to critique as I am always looking to improve.........Don
  10. I make lots of different belts and all are lined, and or double thickness.....and in all cases, they are stitched. Not that you can't just glue and call it good, but you will always be at risk of de-lamination.....just my 2 cents.....
  11. I make the two piece ..... 36" body ..... 24" adjustable strap ..... If you need pics of the two pieces, let me know.... don
  12. Received them from Chicago med and they are high quality in my estimation...
  13. Thanks guys.....ordered a couple from Chicago Med.....I'll report back after I receive them......
  14. Here is one that I made.........2.5" wide .... the top design I borrowed from a guitar teachers strap .......... the body of the strap is 36" long, and the adjustment strap is 24" long......I can take photos of my templates if you like.......Don
  15. Thanks Bob ... The way I case is to submerge the leather for a short period of time....with bubbles still leaving the leather, and then place it in an insulated cooler for about 24 hours....If it is ready (returning to normal color and cool to the touch) and I am ready, I will begin stamping.....If not, in either case, I will place it in a zip lock, and then back in the cooler. It will hold the moisture .... In my experience, important to not over wet the leather. I know there are many ways to case, this is just the one that has worked best for me....Don
  16. Thank you........exactly what I'm looking for!
  17. I am looking for a plastic glue container, that has a retractable brush in the lid so the shaft does not sit in glue. If you buy contact cement by the gallon, you would transfer it to this. I saw someone using one on a you tube video and it is pretty slick. Any ideas!
  18. Thanks all.....the basketweave for me took on a new level when I learned to case properly, and I purchased some Barry King stamps.....the veg tan is premium double shoulder from Hide House.....9/10 oz. I have always had good luck, service etc. from them. Have bought both veg tan and wickett & Craig English bridle. They have been happy to send me samples of any leather I've needed to see.
