  6. Some help needed from the USA if anyone could help this guy out from a post on Standingbears forum:: Does anyone know where we can find a Leather working factory? We are looking for a very small domestic factory to produce small quantities of very high end leather goods ( Wallets, Bags, Belts, Cigar Cases,...). Person or company must have impeccable attention to detail and ability to make most any type of leather item from our drawings. If there is a list or other website we can visit please let me know http://standingbears.proboards102.com/inde...&thread=162 They are from Florida but open to anyone in the US http://standingbears.proboards102.com/index.cgi?board=questions&action=display&thread=162 Thanks for any help you could give them Dave

Hi Ian welcome along to the forum
  10. Cumbria is such a lovely part of the UK and well worth a visit..spend two weeks one at the school and enjoy the rest with outstanding views that are on offer around the area Hexham comes to mind an old Roman village crossing a river. I spent 6 months learning Celtic art there Hexham Abbey was once described as `the largest and best examples of Celtic art,
  11. The eBay thing I get angry about sellers putting more on the posting costs to lower there listing and selling fees that they have to pay eBay.. you will see at lot of this with listings from China and Hong kong but looks like eBay are about to be sorting this out at long last.. I also get narked when you pay £2.00 posting only to see when the item came though the post box 55p I know good wrapping costs time and cash but come on.. not that much It's no good trying to undercut the other eBay seller just to sell the item..You have to list you items at a price to cover your costs of the listing and eBay fees and if you are going to use PayPal when selling add this in as well offering discounts regarding what every banking method is used is also a good selling point on eBay also if your a seller Shipping your item as fast as you can is also a good winner and the more remakes in your feedback regarding fast shipping will win over the customer hands and feet over a seller who do's not care about giving any type of customer service.. 12. Could not agree more chap.. thats why I use a Mac for all my artwork and sometimes linux on my PC and put up with the Microsoft o/s when needed... As I said without getting into the Vesta vs Xp crap have a open mind and use what is needed to get the job done use and do.. but software and o/s are down to what you Like best and what is needed by the computer to get the best out of the hardware that is in there but anyway going right off topic regarding what the post was about...
  13. Without getting into the Vista vs Xp thing put both on the new new hard dive as newer computers are being built to run on Vista we are sorry to say and support of Xp will be fading away as this is the Microsoft way of making you conform with a singular goal of you parting with your cash and to quote Mr Bill gatesYou will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile up-grade now..
  14. I am using a iomega screenplay 500gb external drive it works very well and is used to back up my laptop via-Norton360 just in case the big computer grim reaper comes along then I use the rest of the space for movies and eBooks.. I also back up some very important documents via CD and send emails to myself using attachments and googlemail / gmail the only thing I would suggest on a 4 year old computer is if it has not usb2 on the mother board dont think about getting any external drives up-grading your motherboard and adding a larger hard drive would be the best way to go giving you a more up to date computer with a load more room and plenty of scope for adding more drives inside or other up-grades... 19. Your more than welcome to any help I can give Pauly... then it's a go just play around with your patterns and rip that seat apart there are some more links at http://bikerodnkustom4.homestead.com/sidecar.html scroll down the page though and you will find loads more I visited the site quite a few times without seeing the other bikes that are on the site.. ...good luck with your seat man... and what you do with that 60kg person is make some tack up and let them pull the bike along and shout mushhhh
  20. I was going to say squash them hard to get the right colour Grumpy but we cant keep on playing on the same joke never mind but back to Steveb's post I have found PVC boxes the type used to keep food in very handy to help stiffen something like this up using glue and felt and turning the felt over the sides of the pVC to get a tidy edge also helps makes the case a little crash prof the last item I did this too was a camera case sometime back..but only on the inside front and inside back of the case.. Dave Wolf
  21. Thanks PeterD I'm having fun playing around with the template from the gambler pattern a pinched front is what I am trying to modify this and like you said in your post I'm finding this pattern a very good starting point for almost anything.. loads of fun messing with some very heavy card and hard thinking going on regarding how you get a easy way to pinch it in right a wooden former and clamp comes to mind to mould it to the right shape before stitching as I now have a back log of orders for this type of hat..Thanking you all for your input one of my main reasons of coming on the forum was to make projects that I have never done before... I now have my laptop next to the bench as it's becoming a useful part of my tool set...
  22. Some very nice work going on here Cecil looking forward to talking to you soon

    Dave Wolf

  23. Cool anything to aid in not squashing one's balls has to be a worth while I bet he will be all the envy in the bar as just how fast he can get his balls out when the heat is on !! A very nice bit of work you have going there and looks like could be easily modified into a very useful sunglasses case. Dave Wolf
  24. Hi thanks for the photos now your project is starting to build in your mind... you say Tiki mask and jungle foliage for the seat in tan to match the grips. Nice one !! now the next stage drew this out on paper full size using the size of the top of your seat as a guide and see what it looks like paper and pencil is cheaper and a good project need good planing to make it look right ... now you say your sewing is not very good. I suggest you get up to speed in the areas that you need to build your skills on by working some leather projects start on little things first that use stitching also at the same time use some of the Tiki Art from your seat pattern so you get used to working this in Leather little steps at a time then when you are ready use the old seat as your main pattern for your first seat project to make things easy for yourself that is ... I would make a cardboard template from your old seat to keep as from this you can mess around modifying and playing around to make more custom jobs at a later date as this I find is the best way to learn by getting your hands on the tools and leather and just enjoy seeing what if I adjust this or do this how would that look when it's on the bike... Looking forward to seeing your seat coming together Pauly I also like the look of your bike by the way... Something I haven't got the time to build Yet below
  25. Hello there if you could post a photo of the seat as it is now so we could have a little looky and form a plan of attack !! and post anything that comes into your mind like style, tooling, colour, Designs that you like artwork you like or things you dislike should help us to help you...and welcome along to the forum by the way tell us a little about yourself..
