  1. Lots of numbers... which of these numbers tells me what Pfaff model this is?
  2. Thanks, I´ll turn it around tomorrow when I´m at the shop and look at the back.. cous when I image searched for 230, all 230´s I saw, looked like household machines and nothing like the one I got. :-) THe brass plate I found on this one with "230" was placed at the top, but that may have been attached later or for some other reason..
  3. When I image search for Pfaff 230, no one is looking like the one I got, so it might not be a 230 after all.. hmm, anyone :-)
  4. Today I got a Pfaff 230 Industrial Sewing Machine for free.. someone moved out of the contry and didn´t have time or money to ship it, so I got it.. It is also a table for it.. It worked totally fine before it was taken apart, so I hope it´ll work when put together again. I will get a sewing machine company to look over it, bit does anyone know how a Pfaff 230 will work on leather? It was also equipped with something called Argo 42 / A, but I don´t know what that is.. anyone? This was the only number I found so that´s why I belive it is a Pfaff 230
  5. Thanks a lot for your info and tips! On the instruction manual that came with it says Durkopp Adler 211, 212, 219 and the machine is from 1978... I don´t have much experience with sewing machines yet, but does anyone know where I can find out more info about any of these models? When I google image searches, it looks like I have the 211 model. It would be nice to know what the machine is ment for and what it is capable of doing? :-) I bought it for $330 (which in Norway is not a lot of money) and there had been a lot of people calling for the add, but I was first and got it. I have three projects where I would need a sewing machine.. 1st, thick and heavy leather seats and motorcycle bags. 2nd, me and a friend is designing and making some female leather purses and handbags, where we usually uses relatively thin leather and skin (1 - 2mm thick) and 3rd, I´m reeducating myself, and are an apprentice at a small upholstery company, and can use the machine for small side jobs at my spare time.
  6. I´m offered this Durkopp Adler industrial sewing machine at a pretty low price, but I don´t know which model, except a few photos I got.. does anyone know what model this is and if it will work ok on leather?
  7. Thanks a lot for comments and feedback! For the sides, I used ordenary masking tape and sort of molded they way I liked it onto the seat padding. Then I took it off and placed it on cardboard and cut it out, and then transfered it over to the leather. I´m not sure of the ounces of the leather but it´s about 4mm thick. Just an amateur trying the best I can :-) Thanks again! :-)
  8. Thanks a lot!! :-) Riding a hard tail is fantastic! :-) and oh.. I forgot to tell.. the inspiration for the design was taken from a very personal piece of the owners jewelry

  14. getting there soon :-)
  15. Thanks a lot! I use a dye called R.O.C (Narvesvaerte) It´s a Danish brand I think.. I first applied dark brown with a sponge, then I used Vintage Brown, applied with a Mack Tidwell brush.. let it dry for about 15 - 20 minutes then polish off..
  16. Started the process of adding color..
  17. looks nice :-)
  18. The last seat I made was for a new bobber project.. It won the jurys award at Oslo Motor Show 2010.. Here is the bike with the seat on.. (I also pinstriped the bike) Also made a belt cover for the show with the builders name, the painters name and me for leather and pinstriping.. and the photoshoot... Now, I´m working on a new seat, with a celtic, viking/dragon motive.. this one is for a long fork chopper..
  19. Great job! Cool to make some original bike seats too! Well done!

  21. Just finished another seat.. for the Bullet Bobber which will be shown at Oslo Motor Show..
  22. Thanks a lot! Another Motorcycle bobber kind of solo seat with a brass frame.. so far no graphics on theis one, but the cool thing is that it is pretty easy to unscrew the screws and change the leather.. if I want different designs..
  23. Looks awesome!! Great job!
  24. oh, and then done.. I used the suede part of the leather on the undeside.. never tried that before.. I will add a lot of leather grease to it and polish it real well prevent it from sucking up water..
  25. And the result... tata: I have already started on a new seat... which have to be finished, or at least look finished this weekend.. I will also ad more graphic to the skull.. And as for now my bathroomfloor is working as a working area.. finishing up some stuff.. :-)
