  1. Bob it was great chatting with you on the phone. well just to answer this question on the LW my stands will do the job, yes its great to tilt and move but not a must and many good makers are using a basic stands. 8. Howdy Fellow Saddle Makers! Here is a question I have been brewing and thinking on for months. Back in the day Bruce Troy and Keith Seidel lay down there methods for covering swells and in-particular welt less covers on big swells. Now after doing five straight seat inlays I am wondering if my fellow makers will bless us with there methods, as mine are getting me by but lack something. If any of you feel so inclined to grace us it would be excuse my language damn good to hear from you. In order to learn one must know that there are always better ways to do things. Pictures are welcomed, pleases no one say use the search feature as I want fresh meat here! Thanks josh

  10. First let me say how amazing your work is ! May I pose a question or two? On my last padded seat the thought entered my mind. What is a proper space between the cantle edge and the padded seat? How tight is to tight? How much material do you need to maintain proper integrity on the seat? also if you would tell me about your finish process I would be very pleased Thanks Josh

  19. Thanks for the kind words! well i guess I could go on with every new item on what I did but for all belts the key thing is to have a good lay out and a good eye for detail, wich I am still trying to hone my self. well its both! I do a back piece and glue it on then a filler glued on the front rough side out. Then stitch the the filler and back piece together. glue on your front piece to the filler. use a good glue and there is no way it can come off . the flesh sides kind of meld into one. looks cleaner and stays nicer. Thanks Deb. I must say I am kind of shocked to see this thread after so long. Josh
