Hey guys I have a customer that wants a holster with shark accents. I can afford an entire side and don't need that much only about a piece 6 inches by 6 inches. Does any one have some extras they could sell me or recommend some place to buy it in small amounts? Or would anyone want to split an order with for a entire side?

Hi guys, Just finished my first attempt with exotics. Used elephant which I dyed black and then put resolyne on it. Should I now wax it as the final step like I would do on a all leather holster or leave it without wax?

Hi guys, I am attempting to make a avenger style holster with Elephant trim. The body of the holster will be 7/8 0z. But what weight leather to use to back the elephant skin? The elephant trim will encircle the mouth and sweat shield as well as form the forward belt loop in one piece of elephant skin. I have tried 4/5 0z but thats to thick . Should I go with 3/4 0z or 2/3 0z? thanks guys also any other advie for working with elephant would be great - thanks you in advanced.

Ok good info so if I am using fieblings oil based black how much thinner should I add?

I just watched a video from Kevin at Springfield leather. He suggested adding denatured alcohol to fine fieblings alcohol based dye. How about there oil based? Any need to add anything to that?

Sorry Steve one more question. When you first draw your templete around the gun am I correct in that the rod is on the gun ? Or do you take the rod of when making templets? Seems like it would need to be on the gun to make room but want to check. Muck thanks

Hi guys, I am looking for a easy way to measure cant so I can build holster to a specific degree of angle. Mostly for my IWB what I have been doing is using a protractor on my collar templet and darwing a horizontel line I then draw another line at say the 15% mark. On that 15% degree line I put my holster for my t-nut fastners. This seems to work but I am not sure its right. I looked at what Matt Delfatti has on his sight on how to measure cant and its way different from what I do and I don't really understand it. Any help would be much apperciated.

Thanks Bruce, Can I ask what a foil edge means?This is a 1" inch half round punch that you would use on say a holster strap. It's not the best quality but I will make due with it till I can afford a good one. I believe it's made of aluminum . Anyway. I take a round stone to file the burs on the inside then use a rough and fine flat stone on the outside. I would like it very sharp. So how do I go about stroking it? And should I strop both the inside and outside radius? Thanks rob

I had this happen to me all the time when I was using the USMC black. Once I switched to Oil based black never had a problem. I am convinced its the dye. Try the fieb oil based.

Are you supposed to strop a round punch? If so how is the best way to do it?
